  • Is this wireless or cable?

    • +1

It uses a cable to connect to your phone, but you can switch on and use the noise cancelling without a cable.

Can someone please explain the logic of buying these? Yes, they look nice and they work well. But it's a huge amount of money that I could never justify as a true Ozbargainer.

    • +6

They are pretty much the best active noise cancelling headphones you can get. Especially great for long distance plane travel or a noisy office.

As a bargain is relative (to you and the price of the product) this may be a bargain to some.

    • It's like, if you need something and you would've bought it at $399 or something like that, $335 is a bargain.

      • Yes and I totally agree with you, AznMitch. But who needs these particular noise cancelling headphones?

        • +3

Those people who constantly travels by airplane, like those businessmen who spends lump sum of money to be on business class? Those people who would like to have/need high quality noise cancelling headphones I suppose. It's expensive, I agree with that. If it is work related or related to your productivity and if you earn that much money, I think it would be a decent investment for them.

        • Who needs a car when you can just ride a bike?

The NC on these are THE BEST - and it pays off when travelling often (or in my wife's case - if you are afraid of flying). The drone of the engine disappears and it makes it easier to slip into the entertainment/Ipad/ipod/etc

        • @AznMitch: or if you could work to pay for it.

        • For those who do not want to hear fellow public transport commuters who gossips on their mobile phones throughout the journey.

        • @Nick Larson:I meant if you can get work to pay for it.

        • I'm only a semi-frequent traveller, but these help me relax and even sleep on planes, which leaves me fresh and ready to go when I get to my destination, rather than arrive a zombie. My time is precious, as is the time of all Ozbargainers (isn't it great to be able to get notifications of deals simply by checking in on one website than scanning hundreds of websites and newspapers and flyers manually?). That's the bargain for me.

        • +4

Safe to assume you're still using a trusty Nokia 3310 because it fulfills the role of a mobile telephone? :P

        • +2

Proud QC15 owner here - they are absolutely essential for the frequent flyer. (And no, you don't have to be a rich businessman to have a reasonably high need for air travel.)

    • +3

I get that these are very expensive, even with the sale. But the QC25 outclasses its competition. They are the best in the NC industry IMO (though I've been hearing good things about Audio Technica's). They work incredibly well at removing ambient sound. I used my friend's QC25's at the state library vic, the low rumble of the heater and the whispers were eliminated, the only sound that got through was the occasional high pitched sound of a pen dropping. Using these can be the difference between getting a good(ish) night's rest or a sleepless night when on a 8 hour flight.

Some people don't mind the rumble of a plane's engine or the sound of trains or a noisy office, these aren't for them. But there are some who can't stand it and with the normal retail price of $399, $335 would seem much more reasonable price to pay.

These are worth every cent. Although I only travel by plane a couple of times a year, each time I am so happy I have them. One of the best purchases I've made in a long time!

    • +2

i guess you haven't bought any eneloops.

    • Yeah, the last time I was in a plane I saw heaps of people wearing these. Since they are wireless most even left them on when going to the toilet.

      • Not wireless?

      • +1

They aren't wireless they were likely just using them to sleep with.

    • Second that.. Great Quality..using for last few years when I travel…

  • awesome pair of headphones worth every cent. I have a pair and gave them to my mom. thinking of getting another pair.

  • OP. Local stock? i.e. Australian Warranty?

  • +5

These headphones are available at Myer for $399 - 15% as part of this deal, for a total of $339.15, but it also includes a bonus $20 iTunes voucher.

  • +1

  • Just ordered a pair. Not that I really need it but hey always wanted Bose headphones.

  • OP according to the Bose site there are 2x versions of the headphones.. the one for apples products and the other for Samsung and Android.. can you confirm which one this is/ or cable it comes with?

  • This offer is on the Bose QC25 for apple devices. The Andriod version has only just been released and we have not received our first shipment as yet. Once the stock arrives it will become available on our website and I hope to be able to offer the same pricing as this special.

  • We have just added a QC25 for Android option at the same special price.
