Hi all,
I added multimeter to my search criteria a while back - looked like around 2012/3 there was regular deals but I've not seen anything posted in ages.
Anyone seen any genuinely decent stuff at a reasonable price in the last 3 months or so?
Hi all,

I just needed a cheapie to check 12v and continuity, picked up one for $4.95 from jaycar :)
Yeah true, an option but like, I've got a real nasty cheapie - there was a few half decent ones with some good features built in to them and safety / security stuff? Like they were a smart 30 / 40$ buy instead. but nothing in ages.
The Jaycar cheapie (I have one) uses 23a 12v batteries, which are expensive to replace.
I have another, analog meter that runs on AA which I prefer.
If I was buying again I would cough up $60 for a basic Fluke one, as they are the default 'tradie' brand.
That brand souns familiar, they are quite good generally, right?
They are not cheap, being the brand most electricians favour, but they have a reputation for quality. I've used one back at uni, but never owned one.
60 doesn't seem unreasonable for a base model if they have a good rep.
Well I know my search alert is working, I just got emailed about my own thread :D
