VISA question - traveling to Hawaii

I applied for a U.S. Visa for myself and on behalf of my family members.

On the website it says that we have all been approved, however, I didn't receive an email confirming our approval.

Is this normal? Am i supposed to have any documents sent to me to present on arrival in Hawaii?

Thanks

You don't need to bring anything. You can check to see if your ESTA is valid on their site.

  • Did you apply through ESTA?

Do you have your application number?

Homeland Security will just ask you about ESTA, whilst they scan your fingerprints.

    • Yes I did apply through ESTA. I'll check if I have an application number

You can still check the status without an application number. You just need to provide passport details.

No they won't they'll ask you your purpose of your visit, scan your passport, scan your fingers and let you in.

You don't need to print anything out nor do you get a email saying approved.

Having said that I always print out my ESTA confirmation, entire itinerary of flights and other transportation, hotel confirmations etc and have them in a plastic folder in my carry on.

  • i remember i didnt get email confirmation… i just went to the site, entered details and it said 'approved'
    dont need to bring anything

  • Thanks everyone

  • If you are flying with Jetstar you may need a printed copy of your ESTA at check-in. We flew MEL-HNL with them last year and they were asking for them then.

    • Yep I am. Thanks for the tip!
