Best websites for cheap cruise deals?

Hi all

I'm a cruise newbie looking for a shortish (3-7 night) cheap cruise in Europe, in the month of December. I'm told there should be bargains to be had, given it will be a cold time of the year.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the best cruise searching websites, preferably ones that display cruises from all sources? And any other tips, tricks to be aware of to get the best deal?

Many thanks!

Vacations 2 Go are pretty good but after several cruise bookings we find we prefer to book directly with the cruies line. Royal Caribbean and Norweigian Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises as well are fully refundable (up to like 90 days before cruise) and if after booking they have any promotions that offer a better deal all you have to do is call them up and they'll adjust/update your booking so that you can either take advantage of the cheaper price or freebies such as drinks package, or onboard credit offers etc.

    Cruise Critic - http://www.cruisecritic.com.au/

Has a lot of useful information, so that would be my first stop before deciding on anything, and check out their forums

    http://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/?src=nav

Wealth of information, with posts on latest deals and how to get upgrades and perks etc.

Enjoy and hope you have a great cruise..

if you go on a short 3 days cruise will you need a passport?

    • Depends on your passport and the countries you visit. If you are not going to any different countries you may be ok without passport, but I'd check the terms and conditions of the cruise liner itself.

  • Update 4 months on - we booked a cruise direct with MSC - 7 nights on the med (very new ship, the MSC Presziosa) for $359 each (going basic with an inside stateroom).
