Hi all
We're in the market for a bunk bed, double on bottom, single on top with trundle and all. It's confusing because the online are so cheap and the local stores are too expensive, such big gap that got me so confusing.
Anyone has any experiences?

If money is an issue…what about buy a cheap one on line, then do a bit of DIY, get some timber/steel and reinforce the bed yourself?
And what about Gumtree? Buy the frame from Gumtree and buy new mattresses separately.
Money is an issue to a certain degree, i'll look around first then try gumtree later. I did see one forsales on Gumtree which i really like but further research and found that it's a recalled model.
Have you tried Forty Winks? We got one there about 18 months ago and it's been very solid.

I'd try Gumtree as said above, doesn't hurt to take a look at the quality.

We really want a NEW bed so we'll look around first.
My parents bought a cheap bunk bed once. Within 12 months, the welds for the top bed had started cracking and were on the verge of falling and squishing me. My brother (up top) used to roll about a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary, but the joints just fatigued.
They then bought a much better one with cross braces and reinforcing. It never broke, and didn't wobble.
That was about 25 years ago. Things may have changed since then in terms of standards and quality.
I suppose it really depends on how much you value what is going in the bottom bunk. I suspect it's person though. What I am getting at is the beds need to be absolutely rock solid, and it is hard to tell how solid a cheap internet job is vs one in a shop.
