Somehow I doubt it's going to be genuine but I'm taking the gamble on one.

    • +1

Yeah i was thinking the same. But i checked the seller feadback seems like mostly shipping issue and seller most likely will refund you in case a negative feedback(Chinese seller style:).

      • Also item not as advertised/described case.

Seller claim the cable is original

Yes. These are definitely genuine. The proof is here…

Looks like the box is genuine:

    1- BELKIN 8 pin - 4FT- Cable

    1- BELKIN "Original" Retail Box

  • +5

I am not surprise of the price if it's from Yiwu.
My friend told me he bought a Omega watch for $10 from the market there.

    • +1

And cost of components and manufacturing of iphone 6 is $200.10 in china.

  • -2

The pictures do look like an mfi cable.

This one is even cheaper $1

    • +5

The $1 item is a screen protector. Been seeing a lot of these ebay sales recently. They put something cheap in the list, so when you search for it, it lists it on the cheapest item price

The "genuine" Belkin cable is actually $4.65

  • hmmm ….

I feel allot of chargebacks coming on

  • +1

Hopefully someone can report on the quality after they receive it. I've subscribed.

  • The black Aldi lightning cable is good. It was $10 with an 2A power plug. MFI Approved

  • 111 sold in one hour

    Ozbargained.

The cable comes from Yiwu China. Yiwu, a few hours from Shanghai, is the wholesale counterfeit capital of China:)

  • Why wouldn't you just buy http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N8VT4FK ??

  • Out of stock

  • +1

No way these are genuine Aliexpress is flooded with fake belkin stuff which is pretty much what these would be.. for about the same price.

  • Stock is back. Not sure how the stock is back ..that too so fast.

  • If it is fake, it won't work with apple devices and can't we ask paypal for refund?

Gotta neg for the definite counterfeit product and blatant false advertising.

  • +1

Seller appears to be selling more of these here..
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-BELKIN-Cable-to-USB-Sync-…

Although some pretty interesting feedback (11 positive but only 1 neg), nobody has really claimed it's genuine though.
    http://www.feedbackselector.com/feedsearch.php?seller=habi-a…

    • That's probably because:

      1) People don't realise its fake
      2) People realise its fake, sends an email to the seller complaining, seller refunds full amount. Issue resolved.

  • I've seen these on eBay for a while now… If it's too good to be true…

  • I don't know but last deal I bought from someone's post off eBay, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/174804, works pretty well. Tested all the cable ensuring they can do data transfer before I left feedback. But its dearer though and its from local guy in Brissy.

  • They seem to be back in stock

  • Back in Stock

  • +1

I'll be back here in about 2ish weeks and see the seller ozbargained with negs.

  • +1

    Package Includes:

    1- BELKIN 8 pin - 4FT- Cable
    1- BELKIN Original Retail Box

Needs more negs for this.. Only the retail box is original!

  • +2

even a quick search on this seller reveals this feedback on the "belkin" cables:

*Does NOT work; seller demands positive feedback before refund. Ebay should ban
    *The charger did not work
*The cable doen't work !!!!!! I Want a refund imediatly!
    *does not work some time
    *Cable don't work for iPad

  • Probs won't work with next Apple update like other fake cables

  • Bought the black Belkin cable from JB and it is not packaged like shown in the photo - fake.

  • I have bought them from Ebay before (different seller) and they come in all the packaging Etc, but sometimes my iphone will say the accessory is not genuine.

Very rarely but every now and then.

I have a genuine belkin cable for my iphone and it has never came up.

    Good for charging anyway

    • +1

I bought a 2 metre belkin cable from the online apple store for $35 and a 1.2 metre belkin cable from ebay for around $7. They both display the same error message that the cable isn't supported every now and then.

    Hi All,

Just be careful for Lingtning cables. Yes the item may be REAL Belkin cable. But not Real Apple Cables.

If someone happened to have seen these Belkin (or other brand) cable in the local stores, you may see that none of these cables mention about the compatibility to iPhone 6 or 6 plus. Even if you read the description (not the title) of this eBay listing, you will find no mention about iphone 6.

My own experience, I bought about 10 cables from ebay and local stores, time by time, to be used for my iphone 6+, price from $1 (ebay) to $15 local store. ALL FAILED after certain times of use. (Hint: you can always unplug and plug in again, and it sometimes will work again)

A friend in the mobile phone repair industry told me that the original APPLE cables has a microchip built in, every single chip are different (got its own id or alike), the copied one use one single chip and duplicate into 10s of thousands, and so these cables all have the same ID, which will then be caught after few uses, the the iPhone 6 will tell you that it is not compatible and may not function as expected.

In my case, I use the cable to charge my iPhone 6, and if the message appeared, it doesn't charge, but battery dropping significantly, even the charge symbol is on.

*** My information source could be wrong. Just for your reference. ***

    Cheers,
    A.

    • thanks for the info

    • +1

He is right. However MFi cables are apple certified and carry the same chip. Trouble is that they run almost as expensive as the original ones. I have one by monoprice which actually costs more ($18) but is a braided cable and has a nice titanium finish with lifetime warranty unlike the apple ones.

  • +1

Just a note these have thicker connector bases than the regular cables so you cant fit them phones with covers on them although they fit tablets without an issue.

  • DSE selling genuine ones for $15.50 a week ago. Beats paying Apple $30 for theirs.

  • Amazon make their own certified cables. Bought a bunch of their 2 metre ones. No problems all.

Got mine today, this is definitely a fake. A first glimpse at the box which says "For iPhone 5, and wait for it… SAMSUNG mini??" already led me to believe this was not a genuine cable.. Obviously Samsung's devices don't use the lightning connector. There's several other mistakes such as spelling, poor signs of manufacturing etc. For those who are interested I've attached some pictures here.

Although the cable does work on my iPhone 6, I don't think I'm prepared to take the risk and damage a $1000+ phone for a fake cable worth a few dollars. The cable may however be handy for a temporary one of use.

I'd advise everyone to stay away from this cable and other genuine claiming fakes that are also too cheap to be true. I've sent the photos to the seller and have asked for a refund. Hopefully I'll get my money refunded faster than the time it took to ship this.

    • +1

The seller will be ozbairgined with negative feedback.

      • +1

Haha yeah he will.. let the negative feedback begin!

        • +1

I will wait till i got mine first just to satisfy my moral (Y). Thanks for the picture and the review, i already updated the post :)

  • just received - FAKE!

    • Same here i bought 9 and all of them fake. Im contacting ebay and rising a dispute via paypal to get a full refund.

  • I got mine on Saturday. Bought two and one stopped working on day 1. Other one is flickering. On and off.

Raised in PayPal and eBay or the seller is asking me to send it back.

Has anyone managed to send it back? Should I just forget about it or there is a way of getting refund ?

    • See below.. I sent a message to the seller with pics claiming it was fake. Within 24 hours I got my refund and this reply claiming that I don't need to return the item back. Also one thing I did mention in my message was that "I know for sure it is fake and I hope you will resolve this issue without me having to take it to PayPal". Probably that triggered the alarm to refund me immediately :/

New message from: habi-accessories Top Rated Seller(5,822Green Star)
      i ,dear,
      Thanks for your message.
We are sorry to you receive the items in the bad condition, this belkin cable is made in china ,maybe it is not same as the cable that in your local coutnry.however I can refund you money and you do not need return item to me.

      • Sounds good. I opened the case with PayPal directly. So PayPal sent me a msg to send the item back. I'll send a msg to the seller and see.

        Thanks a lot.

        • +1

Seller will refuse to pay for postage. Ignore him and contact ebay directly and tell them he refused to pay the postage label, then ebay will refund your money :)

  • +3

To all those who bought this FAKE cable. Just want to let you know that ebay just refunded my money back. Open a case to return the cable, the seller will issue RMA to you, as the cable is not as described seller must pay for return postage according to ebay policy, contact the seller and ask for a return postage label and he will refuse and say buyer must pay for postage, contact ebay directly and ask them to step in and help; tell them cable is fake and you want to return them back but seller refusing to pay the return postage and according to ebay rules seller must pay for postage if its not as described, ebay will issue refund for you.

    • where do you find these terms : seller refusing to pay the return postage and according to ebay rules seller must pay for postage if its not as described

      • After opening the case the seller refused to pay for return postage label(Because it cost more than the purchase price to ship it back to china). You can look at ebay terms and condition which they force the seller to pay for postage or offer a refund in case item not as described.
