Fancy Feast Royale and Other 85g Cat Food $0.50 Each at Big W

90

So I just bought 90 tins of cat food. All of the "Royale" varieties of Fancy Feast were 50c at Big W Phoenix Park (WA) and it's advertised as a "Drop Zone" special on their website so I presume it's available In other stores/states as well. Some of the regular/classic varieties were also 50c, as were some of the Dine Desire varieties. No special tickets on the shelves - just a matter of scanning them to find out.

Regular shelf price is $1.60 for Royale and $1.20 for Classic, and they're currently on not-so-special at Woolies for 10 tins for $11.

    85g Cat Food 50c

So these are just samples ?

all the cat foods are 85 grams. you're just commenting for the sake of it.

i don't think a can this size would be enough for an adult cat.

        • It depends on the nutritional composition of the food. I recall doing the calculations 10 years ago on 8 different brands of cat and dog food - some are flooded with cereal, others with protein, and some with water. Then you get the manufacturer's recommendations which might be designed to encourage sales - a Whiskas tin listed their recommended service size as 40% more than what an adult cat actually requires.

    • No… 85g is standard for single serve "premium" cat food. My Vet says Fancy Feast is like giving your cat a Big Mac.

      • id rather give them a big mac

      • Our 2 year old gets half a can plus a small amount of dry mixed in for morning and the same at night.
No whinging during the day but she sure as hell knows when breaky and dinner time is.

She's been loving these Felix ones, also from Purina
52c/100g so a bit cheaper again

      • the Dine square tins are 85g. the Whiskas sachets are 85g. the Friskies sachets are 85g.
        It's standard.

Pennae thank you so much for posting this deal. I went to the Big W at Pagewood NSW and managed to pick up $280ish worth of fancy feast for $98ish. I think i've cleared them out of the Royale kind.
Some helpful things I found out talking to the dude ticketing the shelves at the time:
This price is on till the 16th.
The dude said they only had what was on the shelves.
The expiration dates seemed to go soonest for FF Classic, then FF Royale, then FF Al A Carté with some dates in early 2016.

I hope this helps other people, what a bargain.

Oh wow!! That's impressive!! My kitty and your kitty are all set now :)

  • Wow perfect timing! I'm literally getting a kitten today that is 7 weeks old~~ so excited. How much of this can I feed my cat? Thanks for the deal~

  • +1

A kitten is probably best fed on kitten food (dry or wet), however I was at the MacArthur big W and they also had the cans of FF kitten food for 50cents.

But be guided by what the kitten has been eating to date, sudden changes in diet can lead to stomach upsets.
    Enjoy your new kitty

    • Thanks for the info, will follow through~

      • Yes - stick to what the kitten has been eating. When you adopt kittens they often give you (or sell you) food as well to last for a month or so. They did have Dine kitten food on sale at my Big W too :)

No Royale ones in Eastland's Big W.
I got a few of the other ones though.
I noticed some scanned at full price and some didn't. The staff said the ones with closer Best Before dates were discounted.
Best bet is go for ones with a 2015 expiry. Though I did get one with a April 2016 date scan at 50¢.
