When was the last time you took the family to the footy for $25?

To celebrate Mother’s Day, the Carlton Football Club is offering 2-for-1 adult general admission tickets to Sunday’s clash with Brisbane at Etihad Stadium.

Just purchase an adult general admission ticket for this weekend’s clash and you’ll get a second adult general admission ticket FREE!

It’s the perfect opportunity to bring along your mum, grandma, sister, aunty or friend

A Sunday game also means children under 15 receive free entry, and don’t forget to pack a footy so they can take part in the kick-to-kick after the match.

If that wasn’t enough, the kids can collect free popcorn and fairy floss at half-time.

So don’t let Mother’s Day end after lunch – head to Etihad Stadium and see the Blues battle the Brisbane Lions

When was the last time you took the family to the footy for $25?

When was the last time you got excited about a Carlton Vs Brisbane game?

The way these 2 teams are playing the tickets should be free!

      • They would have to pay me to go… and I'm a Lions supporter

  • hi need advice, as I have never been to a footy game before, if i buy the general admission ticket with kids going in for free (not the family ticket) which cost me $25+$2.5 for 2 aduls and 2 kids for free, will we all be seating togather or we will be randomly allocated?

    • Its general admission. There is a section dedicated to first in first served.
Usually it will be Level 4 seating. You will all sit together, it's just how far back you will be.
But considering this game. They could open up a lot of the ground to GA, so would be a good first game to go to.

Do you know the basic rules?

        hi Da dpG,
Thank you for your reply, no i don;t know much about the basic rules, care to explain a little more?
What can i bring to the stadium? can bring own food into it? (for the kids)

Also, what if it rains on that day? does it mean we just have to soak ourselves in rain?
hahaha, obviously i am very new to footy, and like to bring my kids to experience it…

        thanks

        • Yes you can bring your own food in now…and the game is at Etihad stadium so they will close the roof if it looks like raining

        • @joelab:

          Dear joelab,
          thank you for the advice.
Bought the ticket already, it doesn;t allocate seat, only says General Admission, i guess they will only allocate seat when we go there on the day, right?

hope we will have fun watching our first ever footy game, despite comments that both teams are doing very very poorly this season.

        • @joelab:
sorry, last question, with the game starting at 3.20pm, what time should we be at the stadium (considering the queue, the pre-game show if any?)? thanks

        • You can bring your own food & drinks, just none of the following:
          *alcohol
          *cans or glass
*open drink containers (eg. if you buy a 600ml Coke outside, don't open it until inside).

        • @Linkwick: thanks Linkwick

        • @Linkwick:
Pretty sure you can bring cans, just not open cans going into the stadium.

          @ymklau:
Here are some quick links to get you started

          http://www.aflrules.com.au/afl-game-rules/

Also don't stress about the "allocated" seating.
It just means you can sit where ever you want in certain sections.

        • @ymklau:

Just a suggestion for seating as you haven't been before. If possible try to locate a seat in a general admin section closer to the middle of the ground so you can see both goals and also with a good view of the video screen.

      • Etihad Stadium only has 3 levels.

        https://etihadstadium.com.au/stadium/stadium-map

I figure its just a typo but since the person that asked the question hasn't been to the footy they may end up looking for a level that doesn't exist. :)

        • True :) But they did use to call it level 4, I think they called the corporate boxes level 2, but it looks like they may have changed it….if the people going for the first time end up on the roof, they might have gone a bit too far :D

Also ymklau, you asked about what time you should arrive, there isn't really any pre-game show, the teams will come onto the ground around 3:10pm, and there wont be a lot to see before that. You could probably turn up around 3 and see the start of the game with no problem, but since they are doing this deal they might have a few more people there so if you want a good seat you might need to get there a little bit earlier

By the way both teams are going u will have a choice of about 80,000 seats

I go for Carlton.. and I approve this statement..

      Carry on good sir.

  • I'm a longtime Carlton member and all for the under 15's getting in free. Last friday at the MCG the 1/2 time Auskick kids were better than our main team!

  • Thank you guys for all the advice. I love ozbargainers, not only informative but also very helpful.

  • Show mum you hate her haha

  • Even if she were still alive I wouldn't subject my mother to the kind of pathetic tactics that the Blues players have been displaying lately!
What they did last Friday night on such a momentous occasion was downright disgusting and not worthy of pulling on a navy blue guernsey!
