I don't really use vinegar and only ever buy the white, cheap homebrand one and use it for cleaning…
I found a recipe and it calls for Balsamic Vinegar. I'd love to hear your recommendations on the best/tastiest brand.

Costco's is a good price and good quality. It does well in ratings. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/-268794--.html?page=2
I can vouch for it, it's good for the price. You can get better but not around the price IMO.
You have to realise that balsamic vinegar is quite a different beast from kitchen vinegar. Kitchen vinegar is mass produced cheaply by an industrial fermentation process, but balsamic vinegar is made from cooked grape juice, and has more in common with wine, hence the high price tag, even higher if they are the brands that have the EU Protected Designation of Origin. So even within "balsamic vinegars" there is a range of prices, like wine. Pick your purse/taste bud tradeoff.
Depends on how it is being used. Use better quality on a salad, lower quality for cooking. Coles has a few options. The one with four leaves is considered better quality for dressings.
