Melbourne Skybus - ever discounted?

Hiv all,

I've been googling and there don't seem to be any discounts/coupons for Skybus ever. Is this an accurate assessment?

Hahhahaha, good one.

You can catch a normal bus, then walk half an hour to the terminal or catch a taxi for $70

  901 is the local bus. Have never seen these tickets discounted. Best is the return or 10x packs. of tickets.

    kinda remember it was below 30 back then

They have an absolute monopoly - no need for discounts! (but might be different in 20 years time, when the rail link is in)

You could meet some other people waiting for a taxi and offer to split the fair. Works out well when there's 3 or 4 people as opposed to each buying a skybus ticket.

FYI, return tickets went up 20% about 2 months ago. No longer $30 return, now $36 (same as 2 x one-way). Better to buy one-way tickets moving forward.
