Hi, I need to buy a smallish portable heater for my baby's room.
I'd prefer one with a thermostat that can be set to maintain the temp in the room. It needs to be good quality because I don't want to be laying awake at night worrying about it starting a fire! Also,it needs to be as energy efficient as possible. I'm willing to pay a bit more for energy efficiency.
I was considering a Dyson Hot + Cool but I read some unfavourable reviews on old Ozbargain post.
Any suggestions?

I'd recommend one of the Rinnai or Noirot convection panel heaters. Gentle heat. Thermostat control. Silent. No fans. Safe with tip over protection. Very energy efficient compared to fan or oil heaters.
Ive been looking too. We are trying to find a cheap (running cost) heater which will warm up our open plan house. I can't see this one will do it, although is portable, so could warm up a room at a time.
Any info would be great!
I ended up buying a Noirot panel heater with a timer. It was quite expensive so I hope it is worth it and hope the bills aren't too expensive.
How's your heater going? We are also looking for one. Was using fan heater for years. I guess time to upgrade.
Hi. We like the Dyson AM09 (newer version of the AM05), but it is a bit pricey. It is good for babies and kids, being blade-less. We have it for sale on our website but you can find it now in most department stores. The AM09 is 75% quieter than the AM05, but some parents prefer the louder (white noise) model.
