Queen Bed Frames

Im currently looking for a new queen bed frame but every shop i go to, they are well over my price budget… I'm looking at spending $0-400 for a frame at the moment.
Ive looked at ikea and they have some bed frames which look ok but I'm unsure about warranty and durability.
Does anyone have any knowledge on these products or know of any other shops who sell frames in my price bracket?

Thanks

  • I know what you mean - we're redoing our bedroom and will be getting a king bed frame this time - and they are NOT cheap!

Forty Winks has a floor stock clearance on this weekend - I think just about all the bed frames they have in the stores are usually queen size, so maybe you might be able to get a floor display one for a decent discount? Might be worth a look anyway.

    • It's funny how a king is usually double the price and it's just an extra 300-400mm longwise and width wise!!
Had a look earlier dismorning, cheapest was $699.. Haha
      Thanks for the suggestion :)

  • I bought a solid timber, thick slat frame for $200 from a small retailer (huge showroom) along Old Geelong Road in Melbourne.

    • Sorry, I should have added I was from NSW!
Had a look at a few warehouse sales but they are all overpriced…

  • If its just the frame why don't you go with second-hand on Gumtree?

    • Had a look, nothing that's appealing
Taken a look through ebay aswell!

  • Found a sale which starts next week at superAmart! Will be purchasing next week.
    Thanks for all your help

Valencia queen bed @ $249 from Fantastic Furniture is really fantastic. Had mine for 5 years now.

Comes flat packed and about an hour out of your life to set up.

Hi, Aldi had some bed frames a couple of weeks back and my local still has stock at Carnes Hill 2171.
    Here is a link https://www.catalogueau.com/aldi/aldi-special-buys-week-17-a…
Great value at $169 and the quality looks pretty good.
They also have queen mattresses for $199.
    David.

    • I took a look at the products when they came out, but the colours didn't go with my room tho. i know i shouldn't be picky at the budget i have but i have found one at superAmart which is having a "end of range run out"!
      Thanks for our help david.

Hi - I have purchased two bed frames from Ikea. One is still going strong but the second had paint peeling from it within two years (and the bed tables had the same problem) - it was that lacquer type paint and it was starting to come off in strips. The really good thing was that I took one of the bedside tables into Ikea, fully expecting to have a big argument (as they had been fairly unhelpful on the phone) and, once I explained the issue and produced my receipt they instantly said I could go and pick out another one (as that model was no longer available) - Ikea even paid for the transport to get the new bed frame and tables to me and took the old one away! Most impressed with Ikea on this one!

However, take note, the Ikea bed frames and mattresses are slightly smaller than ones from Bedshed ect. This means that the bed frame I have with the non-Ikea mattress is a pain in the neck to make as I have to physically push the mattress back into the bed frame every time I make it. Further, the Ikea mattress I purchased for a non-Ikea bed frame is too small and I have to have a long pillow at the end to keep it from moving around! I wish I knew this when I bought them! Also, do not like the Ikea mattress at all - go for an innerspring every time. Hope this helps.

    • I've heard that ikea are good that way. Always want the customer happy! might purchase some under bed storage with the money i saved on the side from there.

I received a brand new queen mattress for free but just need the bed frame to fit. (i have a double bed frame at the moment)

Ill let everyone knows how the frames goes that i purchase on Wednesday.
