What Do You Collect? (Toys and Stuff)

With all the "savings" had here in OzBargain, pretty sure you have justified an extra purchase or two of things you want, but don't really need - Legos, Shoes, Bags, eneloops, Books, DVD/Blu-Ray, die-cast cars/robots, Star Wars stuff, phones, retro games. Is there a holy grail from your collection you'd want to buy someday? (UCS, Yeezy, LV, size D eneloops, etc.)

I think I had that phase where I wanted to have the books, classics, that I read in two languages, collect two copies of the same book.
So technically it's pretty much unnecessary since I've read it once, but it just made me feel like I truly owned those books.
My excuse was, I want to own a big family library kind of room in my house when I get older, so that my family can read and find books that I loved.
Though I ended up stopping as I found out that it's hard to collect classics in English than in Korean, because many of the books that I wanted to get my hands on were either out of print or costed $100~$200 for me to get. Penguin Classic was my friend though, I love those guys for maknig those classics really cheap.

I think I get it from my dad, he collects and reads books. One of the books that got me into psychology is actually what he've bought when he was in university 30 years ago, "Escape from Freedom by Erich Fromm".

  • I have heaps of books too, just love reading. I received a Kindle for my birthday, but haven't used it yet, haha. There's just something about a physical book - the way it feels, the nice cover etc.

I also like to buy sports shoes. And now lately, more electronics and watches. (Must avoid Dick Smith deals).

  • Eneloops. Nah I actually don't have any.

  • I guess I collect Steam games and Udemy courses.

    • My theory is that Steam itself is a game where you have to empty your wallet out as quickly as possible while getting all the games that you'd not be able to finish during your life time. :)
