I have a roomba 630, it's awesome! This is the scooba though, it's not a vacuum the description is wrong. It's just for washing floors

  • Super price. Running out soon, only 25 left now.

  • Sold out

  • Got in just in time. Hopefully its just as good as the current model the 450.
Anything is better than cleaning tiles though!

  • SOLD out

Dammit, I was thinking this is a vacuum too :|. I think my wife will beat me over the head with it.

    • "No sweeping required, vacuums loose crumbs, sand & dirt" can anybody confirm that this will do some vacuuming too? What happens if we have some carpets over some tiled floor too (not big carpets, just some very thin ones)? Will it go over the carpets and try to wash them too?

      • It will run around washing everything it runs over.

  • perfect timing! managed to snag one before it sold out. have been looking at getting the scooba 450 but for $299 this is a easy decision

  • If I told you the actual factories that made these and what you can buy them for from the gate you'd have a heart attack…

    • +2

      do tell

      • Depending on how many they buy, they can cost a person who wishes to re-sell them… anywhere from $30-60.

There is some incredible Chinese factories producing some high tech equipment out there. Some of them aren't even that good, but slap a label on them, put some marketing spin on them and people buy them by the shopping trolley full.

        • Cheers, I didn't get a heart attack.
So are you specifically saying that all of iRobot's vacuum/washing products can also be found as rebadged products? I thought they had better IP protection than that. Or are you just referring to 'robot vacuum cleaners' in general?

        • @marquise:

Well… in actual fact. The chinese factory MAKES them, for themselves. Other western companies come along, 'do a deal' and they just re-label them. There is no 'IP protection' on some of their products because they are purely re-badged.

I'm just saying that if I wanted 1000 of them, I could pay around $55 each and re-sell them for $500. Just get them to slap my label on it for free.

        • @kronicmacstigator:

And it would be exactly the same as an iRobot except for branding?

        • @kronicmacstigator: So why isn't there a Kogan version of this iRobot mop? I can see other robot vacuums on the site, but surely Kogan would have started selling the mop version if they are easy to come by in Chinese factories.

        • @Roscoe99:

          Pretty much

        • @marquise:

Because once the factory has signed a contract with a western company, that exact model is usually blocked off to other companies. But that same factory will generally make other models for other companies. Sometimes with just a different shell.

        • @kronicmacstigator:
Interesting… interesting. So you along with ozbargain community could potentially put together a ebay group buy!

    • not a heart attack, I'd have a plan….
