  • Damn wish the $35 plan could be $30. Would have definitely signed up. Bit out my budget now. Great post OP! Still an awesome deal at this price.

    • thanks

      • +4

        for the first 12 months

      • +3

30% off access fees for the first 12 months.

    • +6

Damn, I wish the $35 plan were $5. Then I could drink $30 of beer each month.

  • So I Can get 30% off 24 months contract with phone or is it without phone only?

    • +1

Plan only, the phone+plan costs more and have higher data caps

  • Where is this on the website?

    • if you click go to deal, select just plan, and month to month, you'll see it. the 30pc off is in fine print

  • and how long will this deal stay for … for the life of the plan ?

    thanks

    • +2

      12 months

      • but on the website it gives you 2 choices 12 Months and Month to month .. if taken on month to month this will go on until contract is cancelled or opted out of vodafone…. any views

What will happen in Month to month case ,, will it continue on for the life of the plan

        thanks

        • +1

Well it states "for the first 12 months"… I'd say that applies whether you go month to month or 12 month plan

  • +1

this discount is only apply to month to month, and the discount last for 12 months, 12 months contract or 24 months contract does not get the discount

    • Hi Netbear

Isn't better without the contract, yet with the discount? I am a bit confused. Cheers,

      Bob

      • +2

hi Bob this deal is good because it's month to month and u get the discount for 12 months. NO contract Required.

        • thanks for the info. cheers.

  • This is bloody cheap, but I want a S6

    • +14

      …then buy an S6.

  • where in the voda website do they mention anything about this 30% off abn-holder promotion? i'm interested in signing up

      • nope. Still only shows 1 GB of data, $500 included value and infinite calls to VODAFONE numbers…. am I missing something?

        • +1

The $50 Business month to month Sim Only is 30% off, making it $35 per month for 12 months. It is still referred to as the "$50 RED" on the website.

  • +1

Does the $5 roaming still apply on this plan?

    • +1

All their current plans have it.

  • +1

    How do I obtain abn?
Can I use transfer my existing Vodafone number to this plan?

    • Get an ABN here, but…

To get an ABN you must be carrying on an enterprise in the form of a business. Your application will be refused if you are not entitled.

  • So this can't be done online only over the phone or in store?

  • How's their coverage these days? Have been with Telstra for a few years, now on Boost. Could be time for a switch.

    • same thought here, i wonder if its worth the switch but how much of a speed compromise….

    • +1

They did a coverage check for me through here last time I was in store: www.vodafone.com.au/coverage

      • oh yea i checked that map as well to make sure at least its not terrible however i wonder how good is good you know what i mean?

  • +2

Can I use my work ABN?

    • You can use any ABN, it is highly unlikely they will check.

  • Can this data be shared with other phones on vodaphone network?

  • is this come with the free stan, spotify… etc subscription?

    • +1

No, the access to premium content is only available on 12 and 24 month phone plans.

  • Is this deal for the 4G network?

    • of course

      • Obvious to you & I, but a ton of people here would be used to razor-sharp plans from MNVOs, where 3G is often the catch (if it really matters).

  • +1

Does anyone know if i can get this plan if i'm already on VF but Month to Month?

    • assuming you are on a personal plan, you'd have to port out of vodafone then back in again

      Source: friend at vodafone

  • The $42 with 8GB looks good.
Does Optus Telstra have comparable plans around $40?

  • how would you get a ABN for free?

    • It's always free to get an ABN via the ABR, but you need to actually qualify (i.e. be running a business).

  • +1

Thanks NETBEAR… this prompted me to call Vodafone to inquire when my plan was finishing… and It's finishes tomorrow!! hahah so I've gone from a $60 per month down to the $35 month to month. Thanks :)

  • +1

Brilliant! Thanks so much for posting. Just went from $65 a month with 4.5gb of data to $42 a month with 8GB of data!

  • how do u get free ACN?

    i thought there's a yearly or 3yearly fee?
ABN - free but u need ACN, which has a fee to obtain ACN

    thanks

    • +1

you do not need an acn, either to obtain an abn or to obtain this deal. You are perfectly entitled to obtain an ABN as a sole trader, in which case you will hold the abn as an individual rather than a company.

  • Vodafone has visual voicemail ? I hope they do unlike Optus.

Do they charge extra for it ?

EDIT: Ignore … found the answer. They do support it and its free. uses plan data.

  • This plan is for new customer only…damn all the hope for nothing

  • If you tick the 'Yes I need a phone' and '12 month plan', the lowest plan is $70 but what phone can you chose?

  • +1

I've been with Voda for years and they just allowed me to convert to the business plan no problems.

Took 5 mins, got double data for 24 months and saved $100 over the year , sweet!

    • +1

Is that to a different plan? This only mentions double date for 12 months.

    • +1

I thought you get the discount for 12 months only?

    • +2

I switched from the regular Vodafone $50 (which I was getting for $37 anyway) to the Business $60 month-to-month plan.

This has the 30% discount for the first 12 months ($42), and the double data (4Gb + 4Gb) lasts 24 months.

      • Wish I could have convinced the lady over the other line! She insisted this was only for 'additional service' only so apparently to take up the offer I will need a new plan. I still have 5 months to go in my current 24month contract so I guess that didn't help the matter :(

        • +3

I'd just call and try a different person. They transferred me straight to the (Australia based!) business call centre and there was no convincing required, she said it was definitely available and made the change instantly…

        • @xdirex:

So I finally called again yesterday, note that I have 4 mths left in my contract and I'm on 70 red plan and almost monthly I'll overuse my 3gb so $10 bucks for the 1 extra GB.

I was offered the below after 5 minutes on the phone with business customer care:
Month to month 60 business plan with 12 mths discount $42
          4gb + 4gb indefinitely
          Unlimited calls/sms
However I will need to pay off my last 4 months = $280 + first month bill of 42 + 14 (mobile) making it a total of $336 for the first bill! Argh.

Alternatively he offered me a 12 mths contract but I won't get the 30% discount..

So i did a quick calculation and bit the bullet. I went ahead and opted to pay out my contract for the month to month. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think by the 9th mth I Will break even. Or perhaps I should have called back next month but the offer might be gone by then :(

      • Were you able to keep the same number?

        • +1

          Yes of course.

          Seriously it was super easy…

        • @xdirex: Didn't find it as easy in store… Now using a different number (temporarily).

  • The worst part is being stuck on a plan for 24 months.. 12 months FTW!

  • +1

    Solid deal op..
    Coming from red personal plan..
Rang the first time, operator said no, had to be a new connection wouldn't let me change..
saw @xdirex post, tried again and she took 2 mins too change me! 18$ a month off yew
    TY

  • -1

I'm on a month to month with Voda and they wouldn't do it for me. Guess I will churn out to a prepaid telstra then churn back in again as it's only for new connections?!?! Thanks for the post OP.

  • This is perfect for my VOIP @ work (data share sim goes into my 4G router) and business mobile!! Thank you so much for this!

  • With ratios honing in on $4 per gb, the value here is catching up to those data favourite- pack SIMs of 2013-14. What pleasantly refreshing development (esp wknd voda).

    • +1

      Come again?

      • *An appealing new development:
Data become ~$4.667GB for acct. business & "10GB Internet Data $30 Vodafone thread.
        +google WKND voda
        apologies, bad habit

  • Can the people already on Voda month to month plans move onto this one? I am on a $34 month to month plan with Vodafail.

    • +2

      I did, see above…

    • You slag them, by calling them Vodafail… but want to keep using them?

      • It fails to receive SMS's or even the notification on voice recording on missed calls on time. Some times I receive a notification on a missed call after a day or two. It's same with SMSs. But for the price I pay and the number of minutes I get I am ok with it but not necessarily happy. The other reason to stick with it is most of my friends are still on Voda which gives me free calls to them.

  • Can anyone see on their My Vodafone account if the 30% discount is applied? I'm on the $60 contract, but it still says $60, not $42?

    • +1

In my experience the discounts are not shown here, only on the bill. May just be my account though…

      • Cheers xdirex, I'll keep an eye out when my bills comes.

  • Anyone know if the 30% also applies to Red Business Growth plans, or only Red?

  • +1

Well done OP on this one. Was about to change over to Amaysim today but changed over to the 60 red plan @ $42/month saving myself $8/month and getting an extra 5gb per month in the process.

Will say that the process seemed a bit over the top, I got passed through to 5 different people before I got someone who could link my abn to my account and change the plan, but 20 min on the phone e a small price to pay for the deal.

    • That's an $18 saving, where I come from ;)

      • I should have mentioned I was on the $50 red personal plan before, hence the $8 saving.

  • +2

Thanks OP got signed up today was gonna go amaysim but this seemed better. They also had a 30% off a second service for life so got the 50 plan for 35 for life.

    • 30% off second sim for life … Is this somewhere on the website ? I want to get this but couldn't find it listed anywhere.

      • +1

Yeah so while signing up in store (Top Ryde NSW) the person in store told me that if I sign up for a second service at the same time (This service needs to be a commercial plan) under the same account they would give me 30% for life on the second sim. This turned out pretty well for me as I got the $50 red sim only plan for $35 for life. The best thing to do would be to ask them directly. I will try to provide more details tomorrow morning.

  • +1

great find OP got signed up too today. The voda staff had no idea what I'm talking about But Evantualy show him the ozbargain link to sort it out. Anyway just the right time to port over from vaya to Vodafone . Thanks a million

  • Does the business plan have unlimited weekend ?

    • they have unlimited everyday

      • I mean unlimited data and unlimited international calls during weekends till august.

        • No, it's for prepaid customers only and you have to recharge $30 or above monthly.

  • Will they always ask or require an ABN? Or it is ok without?
    Thanks.

    • +1

Pretty sure it's essential. It was the first thing they asked me for.

  • My wife is currently on 24 plan with month to go, will I be able to get this plan after current one end? Or is it for new customers only?

    • New/existing customer eligible

  • +1

Just wondering can anyone please confirm how OP determined that this offer ends on 2nd of June? I couldn't see an offer expiry date on the web page and I am waiting for the abn to come through so just wanted to check when the offer will definitely expire. Thanks.

    • Never mind, just saw it. All good :-)

  • do these include the unlimited data on weekends

  • I need INFINITE International minutes :(

"300 Standard International minutes when in Oz." - The $50 pre-paid offer is better!!

  • I tried to sign up $60 plan with my ABN. They want to see a bank account statement under my company name, but I've trading using my personal bank account. They won't let me proceed! So they put me in touch with Personal Sales Team and promised me the same deal on personal plan!!

I just called Personal Sales Team, the reps ended up giving me 9GB for 24 months (1GB extra for singing up over the phone) and 30% off for 24 months.

That worked out very well for me. Mind you that I'm porting from Virgin Mobile…they were probably trying to entice me with all these extras. Vodafone are trying hard to regain their market share. LOL
