Officeworks Online Clearance Bargains with Varying Availability - Can You Get Them?

I came accross these too good to be true clearance items available online via Officeworks:

Seagate 320GB Freeagent Desktop Hard Drive - $6.16
Maxtor 320GB Shared II 3.5 Hard Drive - $10.34

They're clearly marked as limited stock with the following message:

Online only. Strictly while stocks last. Availability may vary from state to state. Please proceed to checkout to confirm availability in your area.

Sadly when I get the to the checkout (after giving up my name and address etc) it comes back with a red exclamation mark saying this item is unavailable as there is 0 stock available.

Can anyone get these in their area? And more importantly, can someone get one of the Maxtors for me? ;-)

There is also a Varta High Energy AAA Batteries Pk/10 for $0.53.

    There's a few HDDs which are marked below $20 under clearance. Unfortunately, not available in WA too.

    I think it's region specific and someone lucky may just be able to get them.

    I couldn't get the maxtor but it lets me buy the batteries. Are the batteries any good?

    Officeworks website lists four external drives, 250 - 320GB, with the cheapest being an excellent $3.03. Nothing in Hobart (of course) but there's some stock at Chadstone (Vic). Good luck.

        When I rang up to check if they had any cheap external drives, the bloke was helpful, rang back with info in 5 minutes. He was able to easily check stock at other stores, and told me Chadstone had some.

    I tried a few of the clearance items, including the Maxtor for the OP, but no luck sorry. At other times I have picked up a few bargains with the clearance items, but it is a bit of a hit and miss affair.

    I really think they should have it better organised. I.e. explain how many items there are, and approx where they are located. If there are only a few, they shouldn't publish them - instead just throw it in the clearance bin at the oworks store.

    Anyone having trouble with officeworks?

    I add items, log in, and then the cart is always empty. I add items back in, try to check out, and it's empty again!
