Ashampoo WinOptimizer 11 – the tuning specialist for your PC.

We all like fast and secure computers, but only constant system maintenance and time-consuming optimizations will keep them that way. Those of us who like to invest time and effort to keep up with the latest developments may very well handle those tasks using default Windows tools alone. As system experts, they love to accelerate their machines, protect their privacy, clean and backup system files, fix common Windows errors any perform many other tasks. This not only sounds like a lot of work, it is!
Our WinOptimizer will do the work for you, easy, fast and efficiently. It will give you maximum performance and security and save you precious time so you can get real work done instead.

I don't want to poo poo this deal because i have not used this version of the product but I have used a previous version about 3 years ago and it killed my laptop (sort of). It is supposed allow backups and all that jazz but it still caused a major problem. I did a safe start and restored through the product but it still wasn't right and after much stuffing around I ended up doing a factory restore. Once bitten…

Computer maintenance is not as complex as most make it out to be.

There are only a few things you need to do and a LOT that you don't have to do. Registry cleaning is not one of them. Defragging is not one of them. Why, because a modern operating system can handle that by itself.

Lifehacker sums it up pretty well.

If you want your computer to run smoothly, don't install too much crap. This Ashampoo is one of them. Less Poo, less issues. Uninstall stuff that you don't require for less bloat on your PC.

The only few bits of software that I recommend for maintenance is

      1. A software that does backups
      2. Ccleaner for removing temp stuff
      3. A Malware removal tool (MalwareBytes)
      4. and if required a program to assist you with keeping versions of software up to date. Filehippo is a good tool but be careful of bloatware that is included, but I personally use Ninite. Advanced users may use a Linux style app repository, that is Chocolatey.

    My two cents worth….
I'm not one for big speeches and such and I don't claim to be an expert but the software company's ,like this one that bombard you with spam emails day after day are the ones to steer clear of.imo.
