Unlimited Calls and Texts + 7GB of 4G Data for $19.90 for The First Month - Amaysim

1220
SAVEBIG

After shaking up the competition with their very competitive pricing for their new 4G plans (which have also shifted to per KB billing), it seems like Amaysim have decided to 'up their game' even further

They are adding more data to ALL their plans while keeping the price unchanged.

This is not a promotional or time-limited offer but rather a permanent increase to their data allowances.

The $44.90 plan will now have 5GB of included data instead of the current 4GB while the $54.90 plan will have 7GB of included data instead of the current 6GB.

Both plans will continue to have unlimited calls and texts to any Australian number.

The $29.90 plan which has unlimited texts and 500 minutes of calls will also get a small 'bump' to its data allowance to 2GB from the current 1.5GB.

So far, this is just an outline of their 'business as usual' offering coming into effect on Thursday, April 23rd.

What is a bargain though (under the Ozb rules) is the fact that until 31/05/2015, you can get ANY of their unlimited plans (yep, including the one which comes with 7GB of data) for only $19.90 for the first month.

  • Serious question: OP do you work for Amaysim?

    • +4

Nah, he just spams his website any time there's a phone or internet deal.. With totally impartial comments as well (please note the sarcasm).

  • Too bad if you're a PAYG data customer 5c/MB (MB rounding) -> 7.2c/MB (KB rounding). Yes, I know the per KB rounding makes it cheaper in many scenarios.

  • Can you change plans easily at the end of the first month?

    • Yes, you just select a new plan or go on As You Go. Make sure to opt-in up for their emails as they send an amazing amount of personalised promotion codes.

  • Do these guys have limitations on how much data you can use in a day, like a fair use policy that I recall from kogan mobile.

I have 6gb data and unlimited calls and thats with optus m2m and its only $60 plus gst.

Also the prices quoted are they plus gst as well?

    • Nope, GST included and no limitations on use per day.

  • Use it first month then port out

  • How does amazysim compare with virgin who are also an optus reseller?

  • looking to sign up for this deal from vaya
is it possible to use cashrewards, aswell as the $10 referral credit?

  • This means that there is no longer any reason to stay on the old 3g plans. Now that the data caps are the same.

  • Could have been put out one month ago. Before the obvious, pricing screw up. Instead we find wholesalers can be a greedy bunch. N.b auto renews +overage..two lingering bads in my book
    Nice emotive style however Gin..GL.

ps: also reads a bit of a meekly, shadow copy of boost/ TW' 3 +4 GB plan; where coverage may be interchangeable. For others, it 's no Side-grade (with 4g LTE) to 'unlimited voda or +12hours voice +90% data at weekend: monthly 20 gb.

  • I read your website but it didn't offer much more than you have put above, albeit in a more salespitchy manner. I can see why other commenters detect some bias, with such emotive writing and use of bold and italic all the way through your writing.

    From your site ginmi:
"However, if you like to stream music (through services such as Pandora and Spotify) and especially video (through YouTube, the various TV channels apps and now also dedicated streaming services such as Netflix) while on the go, being restricted to 3G speeds only can make for quite a frustrating experience."

    • Given that most audio is streamed at 128-192 kbit (<0.3mbit), and video is up to around 3mbit, how were the existing 3G HSPA+ networks not suitable for these purposes given that they support speeds up to 21Mbit? Is that just an 'off the cuff' statement based on assumption or do you have some data supporting that the existing 3G networks are unable to stream music or video at a reasonable bitrate?

Also read up the rules, you should probably not be posting your own link as has been mentioned by another commenter.

  • How is this compared to lebara with $29.90 or $39.90 plans??

    Beware Amaysim's terrible customer service.

Amaysim advertise free 3 hour delivery if you order before 3pm Mon-Fri but don't deliver on their promise unfortunately - https://www.amaysim.com.au/why-amaysim/delivery.html

I just tried to order a SIM online and live within the 3 hour delivery area in Sydney shown on this map but was not given a choice as to whether or not I wanted the 3 hour delivery option. When I received the email confirming my order, I was informed it would be delivered within 2-5 business days!

I didn't receive the SIM within 3 hours, and then called Amaysim. After waiting on hold for over 15 mins, they then claimed that I hadn't chosen the 3 hour delivery option, and would deliver it within 2-5 days, even though it was still before 1pm, 2 hours before what they claim is the cut-off time for 3 hour delivery. The person I spoke to escalated this to a manager, but I was informed that they would still not deliver it today.

Amaysim should either fulfil their customer service promises, or stop claiming they can deliver within 3 hours if they're not going to do this.

    • They should avoid making promises they can't keep. I can't see the point of offering 3 hour delivery when those desperately in need of a SIM in that area can also most easily purchase one. If they are porting from another Optus MVNO the port will typically take longer than the SIM delivery anyway.

I'm impressed you only had to wait 15 minutes. The last time I called they hung up on me as they were too busy.

  • Yes they went from 4gb to 5gb but changed terms and conditions. Now you dont get free social media, YouTube, twitter as you did previously in the older 4gb plan

  • So how do I order a SIM and get the referral credit? I clocked referral at top and it brings up the details of what referral is but that's it. If I click on plans it opens a new window. Is that how you do it?
Also, it's askimg for my details and approval to port. Is Amaysim going to port me before I get the SIM?
