Qantas Frequent Flyer Points and taxes

Hi There,

I am wanting to book return flights to Sydney for 2 adults and 1 child from Melb but the taxes come to around $180. It looks like i cant use the points to cover the taxes. Is this right?

    I've seen some references which suggest you can pay some fees and taxes using points. The conversion rate however is terrible compared to the points conversion for flights and rewards in the Qantas store.

    Using QFF points domestically are a bad choice when for less than double you can fly overseas.

    Thanks mate but os trip is not an option for me at this stage. Would love to though. Thanks for the advice guys
