Galaxy Gear 2 labeled at $0.00 at Harvey Norman

Hey guys,

First time poster here. In Harvey Norman and there's a $0 sticker for galaxy gear 2. No idea why it's $0 but it has a barcode. The consumer law Australia site states that a consumer has the right to purchase an item at the lowest displayed price. Any idea if this applies when an item is displayed at $0.00?

Thanks

If it is an error they also have the right to refuse sale provided the product is removed from sale until the error is corrected. They are not any real obligation to sell it to you.

Supermarkets are different as they have an industry code that they abide by, but its not really law. That too has a number of clauses protecting them from unreasonable loss.

  • You could have asked the staff.
Recently HN advertised HTC 8 display model as $155 in the store. I got excited and enquired the model no. The staff was not sure of HTC 8 but later found that it was already sold and model was HTC 8X windows phone.

  • just buy then post the receipt here :)

They don't have to sell anything to you if they don't want to regardless of the price. It's their store and they can sell to who they want.
Since you like quoting the ACCC:

Displaying goods for sale is an invitation to treat, not an offer.
