Home & content insurance for tenanted house?

Hi all,

Tenanted my house recently, but haven't sorted out the house insurance. Bought myself Terri Scheer Landlord protection policy (to cover losss of rent), but which home & content would you recommend? A lot of mainstream online insurance companies have minimum 30k or above worth of content, which I hardly got any in there (only venetian blind & carpet?) Which would you recommend for price & trustability? I'm in WA anyway if that makes any difference. Thanks!

  • EBM and Terri Scheer are the well known Insurer's for Landlord policy's. I went with EBM, I haven't had a claim yet so can't advise on how they respond.

Most insurers in this category should have building insurance policy's that marry with the rent protection you mentioned above.
I imagine you will get a discount for having both building and rent protection policies combined.

Big difference between policies and coverage in this category so make sure you read through them prior to purchasing.

  • Our landlord insurance covers the house, the fixed contents (incl kitchen, blinds etc) and loss of rent etc. double check what yours covers.

    • Who you're with?
