I did the tour yesterday and tried the new boneless hot and spicy it was a good size piece of chicken and tastes really good!!
Its about the size of a burger patty.
Reminds me of the fillet box they used to have… Except more pieces for a higher price.
I wonder if they offer a non-spicy version. KFC often allow substitutes i.e. Grilled Strips instead of Crispy Strips in the Double "Crunch" burger, or Coleslaw instead of Chips. I'll give it a go and see what happens.
Nah, from what I've seen the $5 box is the only thing they won't allow substitutes for, I've tried to substitute gravy for coleslaw in previous $5 boxes and they wouldn't do it, there's fine print on the bottom that says set menu applies.
They did last year when they were selling original recipe boneless fillets. This year it is just hot n spicy.
Just a follow up, the $5 box does not allow substitutions, only choice is a mini-Pepsi or mini-Pepsi max. The $10.95 Boneless box does allow substitutions.

The other piece was a wicked wing, not to mention chips, potato & gravy, & possibly a drink.
Unless you signed a non disclosure agreement you can say anything you want about your tour yesterday.

It looks like the fillet in Zinger burger. Cut the bread roll in half, ask for some lettuce and mayo and put the lettuce, mayo, and fillet in the middle of the bread roll and you have yourself a mini Zinger burger!

They should have the zinger burger, small bun, drum stick/wings small potato gravy, small popcorn chicken, small chips and drink for $5 would be a better deal, and more satisfying.

When I first read this I read 'Spineless Hot & Bony"
Having worked at my local KFC a while back, I can say that 'bonless Hot & Spicy' is just a zinger fillet, that would have been placed in a zinger burger.
Same deal with the Original Recipe boneless, it's just an OR fillet that would have gone into a fillet burger.

They did use Zinger fillets in the past (upto last year), But yeh I think they have changed it to a thigh fillet, according to what I bought today,Yeah, mine looked like a thigh fillet. The chicken it was off was definitely not the Serena Williams of chickens, though.

I got one of these boxes yesterday, and the fillet in it was massive; defo the size of a 'burger' fillet. I was pretty amazed, to be honest, maybe it's highly variable?Also, they're still doing the 'tell KFC' docket-thingy (at least here in Melbourne they are), so if you 'have' (or find) a docket and write the appropriate number on the back, and hand it over when you order this box, you can get a free small chips and bottle of orange juice, as well. So for $5 you then get 2 x small chips, a small Pepsi, an orange juice, a spicy fillet, a wicked wing and a small potato-n-gravy… 7 items, for $5. Pretty epic.
I had it today and my piece was probably double the size of that one.
breast for the strips thigh for boneless for $5 looking better than the subway ham 6" with drink for $5 lunch.
love these deals as I work in the CBD so most of these fast places are within 100 metres, hate the franchise offers that are limited to an obscure suburb.
