Own both logitech and ebay ones. The cheap one is not the same quality, the magnet is not as strong.

can you do a youtube video comparing both?

I like to see how strong the cheap ebay one is…

Also would it mean the cheap ebay one, the phone can fall off while driving on road or bumpy road?
Or it is strong enough to stay on while driving?

        • my ebay one was not strong enough to support my iphone 6 plus while driving. For that price I would go for the logitech one.

        • @GregFiona:

do u use case with the phone?

I got one plus one, which is similiar size to iphone 6

so I guess ebay won't be strong enough?

        • @tyler.durden: i use a case and the metal plate outside the case. he ebay one was giving me problems so I'm only using the Logitech mount now. $16 for a $1250 phone is very reasonable IMHO

        • @GregFiona:

I think the +drive might be better magnet though

Maybe put more money for that..

    • jk?
      Clearly cheap clone

  • still havent got mine from the last deal.

  • HI guys,

does that magnet still able to hold the phone that is with case on?

    • Same question here…

      • have mine on through a spiegen slim armor case.. still holds, hot as strong as without though

  • Can I put the metal plate inside the back cover of my galaxy s5?? I don't like to use phone cases

    • I doubt there would be space / the shape would fit.

    • It might go in, but when u snap it on, you might break the locks

or the back cover locks won't snap into the phone

      S5
I have put the metal plate inside the original cover. Havent even glued it.
Just left it inside on top of battery slightly below the nfc.
Works absolutely fine. No issue on normal roads. If you hit it with your knee or something or go off road driving i mean serious off road it will then surely come off.

      iPhone 5
i have a slim cover the very slim ones.
Again the same deal put it inside the cover.
didnt even peel of to stick it inside.
works a bit better than S5 probably coz the case is very slim.

Thing to remember is if yhe case os thick then youd need to use it outside n stick it.
      with thin cases the magnetic
      "force is strong" ;)

      Hope this helps

      • how about comparisions between cases

        -leather
        -plastic
        -aluminum

how much magnet strength gets reduce in each case?

        • S5 in its own case
iphone 5 in a cheap thin plastic transparent case.
Sorry cant confirm other material covers.

  • No stock near me (same as last deal)

  • How does the metal plate attach to your phone?

    • glue/adhesive

So I think it is a used once thing..

      • You could also just leave it between your phone and a case

        • that's how I would do it..
and add some sticky tap to the case to prevent movement

I prefer this one from Amazon I purchased from Amazon, a little more expensive but not much if you combine shipping with other items. I like it because there is no adhesive, and you can use multiple phones in multiple cars: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JNJPS4W/ref=od_aui_detai…

    • I liked this one far better than the logitech one by comparing the features

  • I have one of the suction cup +drive mounts that Logitech makes and use it with my nexus 5. Since the nexus 5 has inbuilt magnets in it, it holds on perfectly without needing the provided magnetic discs. I'd imagine the hold on the +trip would be of the same strength

    • I have the +drive (windscreen mount) and the +trip (vent mount). The +trip is a lot smaller and therefore weaker than the +drive - the +trip can't comfortably hold my Oneplus One with the metal insert inside a TPU case, the +drive can.

      • thanks..

I also got an OPO phone…

        so this was helpful

  • Magnets and electronics… Had anyone used this long term without issues?

    • Yep, i have had no issues with my iphones and I have been using for over 3 years.
With my new iPhone 6 Plus, I have gone one better and have a magnet in my phone case (Rokform mount) this has also had zero effect on my phone.

I also own the cheap eBay mount which is good, but I had to play with the polarity of the magnets to work with my Rokform case.
I also have the Logitech mount and though it looks similar, it is 10 times better quality.

      • Does the +Trip hold the iPhone 6 plus ok? That's what I plan to use it for with a thin silicone style case.

        • My Rokform case has a magnet in it, so I am using magnet to magnet on my iPhone 6 plus.

I haven't tried with the sick on piece of steel that comes with the +Trip.
