also look at Nissan, xtrail or if you are looking at the smaller suv like CRV then look at the qashquai (I think thats how you spell it) it got small suv of the year for 2wd and is a decent price..

Add Xtrail to that list.
For a medium suv or bigger go for a v6, much more enjoyable. Only thing is the price rises considerably… would be looking at Nissan Pathfinder or Toyota Kluger… The payback would be longevity… easy 10-15 yrs low maintenance ownership.
