The game's out, so I assume those bonuses are no longer on offer. However, still a decent price.

    • I'm curious about this too (whether it's linked to a serial \ cd key) I'm going to ask and find out… I'll reply as soon as I know.

      • I believe the preorder bonus in actually a DLC and is linked to your cd-key. So a reseller could technically have pre-order keys in stock.

I purchased from Kinguin for $67AUD (was advertised to include preorder bonus). I believe gaming dragons is also a key reseller (they prepurchase the keys in bulk/OS/sales). Hence the preorder bonus came up as though I had preordered.

      • When did you see the preorder bonus? Once you're in game or earlier?

        • it comes up when you're installing/activating

      • That's it :)

Cheers OP, will consider and maybe buy when I get home from work tonight :-)

No worries, just received confirmation from Gaming Dragons that the Pre-Order bonuses are still included (and eligible).

Hey,for thoses that want the steam version…. Jerryis selling it for the same price. Got mine a few hours ago… Though it doesnt have the preorder bonus i dont think

    • Do you got a link?

    • +1

      +1 for Jerry on Steam.
Got it from him a couple of days ago. Sent gift instantly (it just took 3 days to download :()

      • Haha that's how I got mine too, although I got it back when it was tier 1 pre-order because i've been waiting for this game forever!

  • How much difference do the pre-order $$$ bonuses make?

    • Pre order bonus $1,200,000 in-game ($500,000 for Grand Theft Auto V and $700,000 for Grand Theft Auto Online)
Pre order bonus $150,000 for Grand Theft Auto Online.

      • Sorry I meant how much difference to playing the game, I haven't played GTA V on any platform so I don't know if that kind of money takes ages to make or if it's worth making sure I get a key with the bonus

        • +2

In both GTA V and GTA Online, that sort of money will help quite a bit in the early game but by mid/end game, it's small change.

I personally would not play GTA V the first time with the added bonus, as saving up for the next gun and feeling poor can suit the story line and is half the fun. However, if you've played the storyline through on another platform, having the extra cash the second time round is really good.

As for GTA Online, the focus is more on leveling up fast, killing other players and making cash/assets. Having the extra cash in the early game is really good and helps you progress through the boring low level missions quicker. It gets you an apartment earlier then you otherwise would and also allows you to buy weapon/cars as soon as you unlock them. That being said, as the guns etc are unlocked based on level, it's not like you can buy the best gun in the game straight away at level 1 and be OP.

          @Coley:

I personally would not play GTA V the first time with the added bonus

I started my game and straight after the prologue with repoing the sportscar it just says the money has been added to my character, there was never an option to not add it (no extra cd key to activate as I got the Steam version). How can you play without the money? I guess I could just use cheatengine or something to do a reverse money hack lol search my money and set it back to 0.

        • @Agret:

The bloke above asked what the difference was like to see if he should get the preorder or not. I believed that it was better without the pre-order code for the first run through of GTA V.

If you got the pre-order then yes, you get the bonus straight away.

Lastly, If you use the cheat engine, it gets recorded in your stats forever. Even if its to remove money, you'll always know you cheated your way through :P

        • @Coley: You sure about that? CheatEngine is an external program and on previous GTA titles it didn't flag you for it. Only if you used in-game cheats would it set that flag (which you could remove with external save editor)

        • @Agret:

Haven't looked into it, sorry I thought you meant the internal game cheat engine which GTA V has.

        • @Agret:

Bonuses like this ruin the game for me. I like to start every GTA with nothing but my bare fists and $0 in the bank, that's a lot more fun than having deep pockets from day 1.

I don't understand why its such a selling point, its no different than opening the console and adding a few mil to your account which is considered cheating in any game.

      • For online play it's handy because they gave the ability to import console saves into the PC version which means a lot of players will be way ahead of you in profession so it's nice to get a bit of a boost at the start so you don't feel totally useless. You still need to rank up to buy things but at least you can get them immediately once you reach the required rank.

  • I got that preorder bonus in the box when I purchased my copy from Harvey Norman. Paid $73AUD

    • How did you get them to reduce the price from $78?

      • $5 Newsletter coupon

        • Nice one. Is that still available?

  • Traveling Thailand at the moment and purchased using steam on mobile for $61.06 using 28deg.

  • The prices are all this range now, so for the extra $15-20 AUD I bit the bullet and bought a physical copy from JB Hi Fi still with pre-order bonus inside for $78 (HN price match). There is a physical copy with pre-order bonus on offer from MightyApe for $75 inc. shipping last time I checked, but I didn't want to wait for delivery.

    • How much do you have to download after buying it physical? I preloaded and it took me 3 days of on and off downloading (60GB game!) to get the game preloaded so I can see why people wouldn't want to buy it digitally post-launch.

      • +1

Physical copies have about ~5.5GB of updates after installation.

  • Anyone know of deals on the xbox one version?

Getting pretty annoyed seeing all these discounts on the PC release whilst the xbox one remains at $80

    • I imagine ebay/gumtree would be your best bet. If people are upgrading to the PC version they might sell their XB1/PS4 copies cheap.

  • Code has Expired

    • Thanks for letting me know. I've expired the deal now.
