Hi all, recently my son received an only 1 Visa gift card. He tried to use it today but he could not get it to work. On the back it reads 'This is not a Credit Card NON-RELOADABLE' under that it reads 'AUTHORISED SIGNATURE - NOT VALID UNLESS SIGNED'.
I do not see a pin anywhere. Although, there is a 3 digit number just past the signature panel.

You just need to swipe down on the reader and press for 'credit'.
Ensure you are not paying for more than your card's loaded value.
At Coles etc, you can select mixed payment and just type in the value you want to deduct.

It can be used the same way as Aussie credit cards were able to be used until last year, when there was a Signature option available.
The Signature option still exists on POS machines, for International credit cards & for gift cards like your son's which don't have a chip & PIN.

There is no pin number for gift cards because there is no chip; you can use it in a shop, but you have to sign the receipt just like the old days.
I have used a couple in the same shop as part payment for an expensive item and hadn't even signed the gift card. As a shop owner I would have probably refused to take the payment, but they were happy enough to process it.

I won an only1giftcard not long ago…it took me awhile to sort out how to use it but it was all good in the end…the only downer was that they charge $1 (off the card) to check the balance :(

Thank you. I might spend it for him and give him the money. I will take more care in keeping a record of the balance. As I mentioned above, I don't think it is the best gift card around. I don't think I will every give anyone one of these.
Never used one but maybe try to login and see if the funds are still on the card?

You can use your Only 1 Visa Gift Card wherever Prepaid Visa cards are accepted. You can use it to make online purchases, at more than one merchant and to make purchases outside of Australia (purchases made in foreign currency are subject to a Currency Conversion Fee of 3.5%).
You cannot use your Visa Gift Card:
at an ATM for any purpose to withdraw cash or for cash equivalent transactions
anywhere there is no electronic processing capability
for recurring payments, direct debits or instalments
at gambling merchants
at merchants displaying the Visa logo who choose not to accept prepaid Visa Gift Cards
