Very tempting, I will definitely buy one if the auto adjust time works in Australia. Perpetual calendar + sapphire glass alone already worth for the price!

    • yeah seems pretty useless buying a watch with an awesome feature that doesn't work in the country of purchase.

love the perpetual calendar though - have it on my seiko and its the tits

      This is interesting:

Disclaimer - I've not used it, and don't own a radio-set watch. But I too am very temtpted :)

I own a few RC watches and struggle to sync with the Japan tower. Thanks going to give this a go a little later on

I use the JJY Simulator app (iOS only) to synch my citizen Attesa and it works fine. The attesa is the higher end of the promaster range and has the same atomic sync capabilities.

the JJY simulator app isn't on android tho, it's iOS only. I previously used the jrcomputing link above (hated it because of java applet problems), I found the app to be much easier to use.

So don't worry about not getting a signal, you can always sync it with the JJY simulator app.

    • if the auto adjust time works in Australia.

Forget it. I've heard anecdotes from people in Darwin or northern QLD getting atomic-timekeeping radio signals from Japan or China with the right climactic conditions and at the right elevations, but realistically, it's not reliable and it's not going to be something you can depend on as if you lived in Japan or the US where your watch will be keeping perfect time, all-year long.

All three of the Casio RF-controlled watches I own have never received a signal (the date of last sync on all of them is the last day they were in Japan/the US).

      • 100%. For some strange reason we have clients in Adelaide who do get the radio signals but that would never be strong nor reliable enough to buy this model for. This would be 100% ideal for someone who travels. The Perpetual calendar and Sapphire glass are the other worthwhile features. Thanks

        • I'm guessing that's like once in a blue moon. I also heard you have to let them sync for literally hours, to make it work in Australia.

I've even heard of people in Perth getting a signal too, but you literally have to hope all the planets align, for that to happen.

        • @Amar89: Exactly. Its definitely not consistent or strong enough but for some reason only sporadically picks up a signal in Adelaide!

      • The Citizen Satellite Waves or the Seiko Astron would be the ones that will pick up the Satellite signal and auto adjust (on a clear day) anywhere. http://www.starjewels.com.au/watches/citizen/citizen-satelli… . http://www.starjewels.com.au/watches/seiko-watches-ladies-me…

  • I have one Casio radio watch. Cannot receive radio at all here in Syndey.

  • Nice watch, keep in mind it's quite large at 46mm.

Well, damnit. I caved. Will replace the Citizen I've been wearing for the last 13 years that I got for my 18th.

    This app might help. https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/jjy-simulator/id431054911?mt…

A youtube video might give some you some idea on how to use it https://youtu.be/OyXjzHosdCo

  • Can you do anything on this one? http://www.starjewels.com.au/mens-chronograph-sndf43p-sndf43… - Seiko Chronograph SNDF43P

    • Hi. Not on this one I'm afraid. This is as low as we can go. Thanks

  • Hi Rep, whats the processing time on these?
I bought a citizen 3 days ago and it's still "processing"

Edit - never mind, just saw it's 7 days to ship

    • Hello. I think we will clear all the outstanding orders by this afternoon. Thanks

  • Can you do any better on the seiko astron?

    • Not lower than $1499. Thanks

  • Hi rep, I'm not sure if this will fit my wrist (I've only tried on watches up to 42mm), what's the returns policy like for trying it on for size? I note the site says 45 days if unworn..

Otherwise if you can give an indication of stock I'll be able to try a friend's 46mm case on for size.

Hello. This is a best seller so I expect any of your local Citizen stockists will have it in stock to try on for size. We should have enough in stock to last for atleast a week. Thanks

      • Thanks a lot, will try it on, although I'm very tempted to impulse purchase :)

        • Best to try it on for size first. I'm sure it will suit :)

I've had my AT9030-55L for a little while now so thought I'd write a quick review.

Thanks to Star Jewels for a seamless transaction and delivery. I think I ordered on a Sunday night and it got delivered on Thursday to Brisbane. Pretty happy with that.

First 'shock', it's made in Chine :( The second shock, the watch face is huge! I wasn't expecting that, but it looks great. It's not too complicated and not too simple. I was put off because it's blue on the internet pictures but it looks black IRL. I prefer the black/dark face.

I was a bit worried the band was going to be too small, but it -just- fits. I did reduce the size a little, but I might put it back to max.

I do miss the stop watch on my previous chronograph watch.

Thanks to all the people who linked to JJY Simulators. I'm using the iOS app using the loop antenna made from a cannibalized 5m ethernet cable. Works perfectly and only takes 2min to sync. The sync is about 1 second off, but thats fine for me. One weird thing is when I have my Home time to Sydney, the time is an hour off. The watch seems to 'know' the time sync is coming from a Japanese tower so it sets the iPhone's time to Tokyo time so Sydney is an hour off. I just set my Home time to Tokyo and turned off DST (for Brisbane). I could set my iPhone time to Tokyo time and synced it, but that seems a hassle I want to avoid every time I want to sync the time. It'll be interesting to see what happens when I visit Japan at the end of the year.

Can someone confirm that JJY Simulator also sets the date? The date was already set, but not sure it's 'set' so the perpetual calendar is correct.

I was a bit worried when the day hand wasn't working when the watch arrived. It was pointing off to the side. When I figured out it was because the watch arrived with very little battery charge I charged it all day at work under a lamp. Problem solved.

Yeah, so very happy with my new watch. Eco-drive, perpetual cal and sapphire (and a nice looking watch) for $399 was fantastic

    • Thank you for the feedback for us and for everyone else interested and for taking the time out to write it. Its brilliant. Thanks again.

  • Can I still get this deal now? Really want one. THANKS

    • Hello. All the stock from that deal was completely sold out. Not sure but we may be able to get some more for StarBuy. Please register in star jewels to receive an e mail update for the launch of StarBuy. Thanks
