Musicians in OzBargain - how many of you are out there? (and how many of you regret not learning one?)

Heya everyone. Was just wondering, how many of you guys here play a musicial instrument of some sort? Alternatively, if you don't, do you regret not learning one up until this point? (I phrase it like this, because it's never too late!)

I ask this because I frequently browse through music gear sites and find decent bargains on musicial instruments and gear of the sort. Typically guitars, strings and woodwinds as I play instruments from those families - but ocassionally other goodies pop up. If there are musicians indeed lurking around OzBargain; I'll begin to post these music deals more often seeing as others may benefit or take interest into them.

When I say "play an instrument", I don't mean something as crazy as having an LMusA in the instrument of your choice; I mean something as simple as being able to play a song or two. Call is yours to make. :')

Really interested to see how many of you are out there and the variety we have here!

      Takamine G70 can be had on eBay for $619 new. Stretching your budget a tad, but wonderful guitars. Found them to be one of the best in the budget guitar range. Can always also go for the Yamaha APX500 - which is also a brilliant guitar for the money. Neck is very nice feeling.

        thanks. unfortunately, there are no local sellers for the yamaha (there's a great bundle from new york, though, but i'm hesitant to buy from overseas, in case i encounter any problems). i'll definitely keep them in mind.

    Some of the best deals i've ever had have been through US Musicians Friend. Back in 2010-2011 when the $ was good it was amazing! They will ship any 'used' items (regardless of restrictions, i.e some brands they won't send to aus) which is great. I have a beautiful custom maple telecaster that cost me about $600 AUD. The best part was i didn't even pay shipping.

    At the time they had just started sending out to Australia, so i think some of their coupons/system was being strange. Add a certain item in and it would make the whole lot free shipping. I would browse through adding random pieces of gear in hope it would put it down to free (true ozbargaining there!).

    Ended up doing a few $1000 orders with free shipping (i got a whole PA shipped for free, just changed out the fuse).

    Last few times i've looked though there has been no such luck. Barely any coupons now either. Thought i would share my amazing luck though! :)

      I got a squier vintage vibes telecaster after hearing people rave about them. Really nice build quality, sounds awesome and some are saying they prefer it over the american made ones…still I'm jelly and still want an american standard tele and that price is phenomenal.

      Talking about music bargains. Dad picked up a new gibson SG standard for $999 middle of last year. Ridiculous. That was when Alan's were having a crazy gibson sale.

      Talked to a friend on this topic once. When asked about what musical instrument he plays, he said he can whistle…

      So yes, recorder counts.
