Slim Fit Business Shirts

Hi there,

Looking for some (extra) slim fit business shirts for a guy with a speedy metabolism.

I've bought a few brands from Myer (Blaq, Glo Weave) but these are still loose fitting.
Couple of brands I've come across which are a perfect fit:

Pobox - Got as a present from a friend who travelled to Melbourne. Can't find this brand online anywhere.
Cedar-WoodState - Bought from Primark in London last year.

I'll be heading to Sydney next weekend so if anyone knows any good stores there, otherwise I'm based in Perth so anywhere local or online would be great.

Cheers

  • I'm pretty much an exact replica of Wally from Where's Wally, and the only shirts that fit me are from Arthur Galan (AG). I've got pants from Connor and AG.

  • Pobox I think is P.O. Box and is sold at Casual Guy stores. All the stores around me closed. Their website lists a few left in and around Melbourne: http://www.poboxfashion.com.au/

I find the shirts at CONNOR and ASOS to be a good slim fit.

  • I'm slim and average height and prefer fitted business shirts.

My goto brands in the medium price range that are all off the rack are: Brooksfield, Saba and Politix. Geoffrey Beene is also pretty good. All are available online, Myer/DJs or their own stores.

All brands go on sale regularly too.

  • Thanks for the suggestions.
I've tried on Brooksfield in the past but seemed to be less fitting than Blaq, Glo Weave.

I'll give the other brands a try.

    • Brooksfield is Glo Weave's "youth" brand. I tend to find their shirts slimmer than most where they are designated as "Slim Fit", though it can vary.

  • +1

If you're wanting to look really good, hit up a bespoke (tailored) suit. I've been ordering them for a couple years and can't stress enough how important the fit is when wanting to look good.

  • Similar problem here, too baggy and often the sleeves aren't long enough.

I buy Hugo Boss and the extreme slim fit Calvin Klein when I'm in the USA.

CK Australia only carry the slim fit which is too baggy so my options are very limited here.

  • uniqlo, try them out at pitt st mall in sydney when you're here. i rate these above CK & zara

  • While we're here, can I butt in and ask where you guys buy your pants from? I'm after slim fitting trousers (prefer quality).

I used to wear those Target ones, but they're a bit loose and baggy on my skinny legs, so don't really give that streamlined look I'm after.

Got this info from a mate for trousers:

Country Road and Witchery Man also has a selection from time to time. For cheaper options Next Direct and Asos is alright too (but not as good quality).

If you're after some shirts with more fitted options I suggest TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwitt. Just google them as they have online shops

From memory they both have an extra slim fit option

You can get different fits, sleeve lengths, button/double cuff etc

Also the non irons are great for travel !!

    • +1 for TM Lewin 'Fully Fitted' most my work shirts are from there.
I also find Zara slim fit decent
Uniqlo has a good fit but I find the sleeves usually a touch short.

  • Thomas Pink, Hugo Boss and Ermenegildo Zegna all make slim fit shirts which fit really well and will stay looking good for ages. David Jones sell them all, though not all stores sell Zegna.

  • M.J. Bale - Excellent fit.
