Best time to buy peak season flights to NZ?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to travel to NZ in the peak season at the end of this year (December 19 to January 10). Unfortunately I am not able to choose alternative dates. Would there ever be any sale that might apply to this period? I can see this is unlikely.

Alternatively, if I do need to pay full price, what would be the best time to do so?

    i actually looked directly into Air NZ but ended up going with Qantas, somehow we got it for cheaper and it included 20kg check-in each. used the extra savings to buy travel insurance. Otherwise, Air NZ is having a 48hr sale right now, started last night/

    We are going 2nd week of July….is that the peak season you are talking about?
