Fitbit One Clip broken after a few months of use

I bought my mum a fitbit one off a friend (used for about a week or so) who bought it through a work subsidized program.

After a few months of use the clip is starting to not hold the fitbit device properly - it feels like it could fall out at any moment. Additionally, the rubber on the back of the clip surrounding the spring bit that holds it has started to deteriorate and tear.

Does anyone know where reasonably priced replacements can be had and if fitbit are reasonable about replacing them? It seems far too short a time for it to become damaged to the point where te device could easily be lost.

    Email Fitbit with a photo and they should replace it- my Flex wristband started splitting where the plastic 'screen' bit is after two months use and they sent me a replacement within a week of my email.

    Fitbit is really good about replacements, my Charge strap broke away from the screen and they sent me a new replacement with no hassles whatsoever. Just chuck an email through to support outlining the issue, and they will reply back (usually within a day) with all the details they require, once I had sent that through it was less than a week before I had the replacement.

  • makes me wonder. if they are so quick with the replacements, are those bands really that easily split/broken?

    • Not really, It just shows their outstanding customer service. I read online that somebody had their entire fitbit replaced because it fell off when they ran with it. lol.

  • Yep Fitbit will likely replace it if you email them with your receipt. Just email telling them what happened and ask how to go about replacing it, and they should offer to send a new one. They did for me when I lost my tracker (my own fault!)

    • Will see how I go. I don't have the receipt as I bought it off a friend (was only a few weeks old at the time, not sure if she has it)

      • Depending on where she got it could she get a reprint of the receipt? Maybe a bank statement extract will suffice? Maybe they will replace without a receipt, but they did ask me for mine before offering to replace.

  • I had a split in my flex band after about 6 weeks. They didn't ask for a receipt, just the store and location I purchased it at. Definitely contact them about the issues and see what they say
