How do I subscribe/ Email alerts to tags? Say tag: Android

Hey Guys,
I'm in the market to buy a new Android phone and wanted to subscribe to any new DEAL that gets the tag "Android."

This is the link https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/android

As it seems to prop up most of the mobile phones I'd be interested in :

The problem is there is no way to subscribe to deals with this tag.

I have tried various searches to set alerts but none that show the same deals that are seen here, unless I'm doing something wrong.

This is the android search result but again it's not only phones and has a lot of other crap.

    Use the RSS feed?

    Some browsers have a built-in feed reader or you can get an app on your phone like Feedly.

    I use MS Outlook at work and even subscribe to some feeds in there. They just look like emails too.

      yes I thought about using RSS, thanks, would have preferred an email but yes that is indeed an option.

    HEy @Scotty any chance of adding this to the feature requests..

    I again wanted to subscribe to the NAS tag and can't do it because it doesn't exist,

    Can you please check if this is possible that way I could keep track of any NAS deal that is posted.. Similarly for other tags.

      There's RSS link at the bottom of all the tag pages. For NAS it's

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/nas/feed

      You can even combine tags. For example here's RSS for all the nodes that are tagged with both HP and NAS:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/nas+hp/feed

      Add that to the RSS reader / notifier of your choice.

        I have done that used the RSS to email notifier @inherentchoice linked to before, But just suggested since you have the subscribe options for store etc. would be great to have subscribe by email for tags too.

          We have gone through this many times here. The reason we don't do tag email subscription is because tags aren't really filled out properly at posting time, where the email subscription is triggered. Often the moderators or power users have to come around to fix up the tags. Therefore it is unreliable.

          I agree that It might be a little unreliable for Narrow Tags,and not every deal gets tagged right but for Broad Category Tags it would still work and work very usefully as it could cover a wide variety of products in one subscription.

          Also I assume most deals that make it to the front page are looked at by the mods so sooner or later the tags would get fixed and in the end it would be better than having nothing at all. Just a suggestion.
