ESP Standard Eclipse EC-2 Electric Guitar - $1659 @ Belfield Music

100

eBay sent me a price drop notification this morning, and for the first time ever - it was a drop of more than 20c. Is an Standard Eclipse EC-2, made in Japan by ESP. These things play extremely well out of the box, very unlikely to need a setup. Comes with the usual hardcase.

Have seen these go for $1100-1400 second hand as is; is an absolute steal at $1659. Specific model here goes for around $2100 at other guitar stores (was selling here for $2100 before sudden price drop); RRP is placed at around $2600 (but nobody ever goes by the RRP anyway, site says $3550 which is also supposedly the RRP).

They do NOT make these anymore, they have been replaced by the ESP E-II which is essentially what used to be the LTD Elite lineup: simply inferior in quality. Almost every E-II that I've played has had some kind of defect, whereas each ESP Original has been flawless OOB.

As a guitar nerd who owns a few ESPs and their jdm versions, I approve of this post.
    It is a bargain.

    20 cents is alot

  • I feel like buying this just because of the reception so far, but I really can't justify spending $1659 on a guitar.. I barely even play once a week!

  • Nice price for an electric but, if l was to spend that amount l would be putting my money here. http://www.babiczguitars.com/dreadnought-acoustic.htm

  • I am sick of buying cheap second hand guitars from ebay. $50 squier, $60 yamaha, $100 hamer (this one is actually good). Always feels like its time for a real les paul or tele. Maybe this one a good consideration too :)

  • 10 bucks more than the Floyd Rose EC-1000 Deluxe at Belfield. Seems like a steal if you're into that EMG sound.
