Recently contacted Telstra after seeing data increase in new mobile plans released yesterday with no luck. Anyone in similar situations or any suggestions? Feel so cheated I just re contracted in Feb now I am paying the same with less data.
Anyone Got Their Data Increased as a Result of New Telstra Mobile Plans?

Perhaps you should consider going on a lower plan lol.
That would be home broadband, OP is asking about mobile phone plans
Sorry I missed that, you are right! I'm talking about home broadband.
Telstra won't upgrade your plan. They don't care for the consumer.
Optus however will upgrade plans no charge.I contacted Telstra Support last week regarding the upgrade and the difference between Encore and Freedom. Apparently the new mobile plans don't allow you to use Plus Packs for Bonus Data. Resulting in less data if you knew about Plus Packs.
Before a $30 recharge got 400mb and now you get 800mb.
A Plus Pack could get you an additional 700mb + 200mb using your non cap credit which you cannot use for this purpose anymore.
The new freedom plan mentions a bonus 500mb data on top of the 800mb but that bonus expires on the 25th May.I found this comparison

If you knew to use plus packs for bonus data I feel at least for me it worked out to be a better deal.I just signed up for Telstra prepaid in the past month, now knowing I cannot add plus packs sucks. Once the bonus data deal expires I may feel the value in Telstra is no longer as good as it used to be and switch to Boost's $20 plan.
Optus allow you to do this. I just contacted them and 5 mins later I have an extra 1Gb for the same price per month.
After numerous phone calls, actually managed to get bonus data without having to re contract. Worth trying for anyone else in similar situation.
Did you get the full advertised data allowance increase? My plan went from 3gb to 10gb with the new announcement. I have 5 months left on contract. I spoke to telstra sales offering to recontract but they rejected my request unless i paid approx $300. I then went to the complaints department and their best offer was a bonus 1gb and $20 credit per month. I subsequently moved my other telstra out of contract phone to a different carrier the next day in disgust. Telstra are now $500 out of pocket for the next 5 months.
Yes, I got the full advertised data allowance.
I'm going to ask if they will upgrade me to 6 on the large plan, since I just recently signed up and got 3.5 on the large plan
Telstra sent me a letter saying the 200GB I previously had is being increased to 500GB
I use about 10GB a month so I am really excited.
