  • No idea how you possibly activated this yesterday.

    Read the 3rd last paragraph…

You can cancel at any time within the first 27 days. Offer not available in Australia, Brazil, China, France, Italy, South Korea or Taiwan. Skype reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

    • Don't know how but it worked for me. I went from Skype to my browser to buy a month and saw this offer.

I don't think it matters where you are, it activates.

    • So TA you get a free month?

      • Hi gcc. Don't really have a need for Skype, but great offer if it works. Cheers mate.

worked for me too. I activated the free trial then cancelled it right away. Still says I can make unlimited calls until May 8, so no problems here.
    Thanks.

I did this last month and it has been working flawlessly for me so far. Made several calls to various countries as I'm overseas at the moment. To make it easy for me not to get caught out and end up paying the subscription fee, I used PayPal and cancelled the subscription via PayPal straight away. Still got a few days left and quite satisfied. The only thing is your net should be fairly decent before attempting to use Skype to make the calls.

How do you cancel the subscription on PayPal? I tried but can't work out what to do…cheers

      EDIT - All good,just worked it out…

Glad to hear you found the solution. Remember this is a great way to ensure you won't be financially hassled in the future. That's why people like to use PayPal for subscription based things because companies can't "accidentally forget" you cancelled.

        Enjoy.

    Worked for me! Thanks :)

  • There has always been a free month's trial available. You can cancel the subscription at any time during the active period, ie you don't need to wait until the end of the month and risk forgetting or whatever. The benefits will continue for the remainder of your month regardless.

  • Question: will this work in parallel with an Au landline 120 min subscription (ie so my existing setup is not risked by adding unli)?
    I like the software & would get a number if were 10ea` ∴ comparable to MNF(?optus) 5,00 for 12mo.

  • need help plz Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a free trial as there are no payment methods available to validate your order.

    • Pardon. Are you in France or local?> mafmouf did write it has worked using PayPal.

      • no from morocco, i tryed to use paypal and i payed for month calling to france just to get Unlimited World but i get this message
If you continue to buy Unlimited World then you will be buying a calling subscription that overlaps with your previously purchased subscription.

        • I guess 'overlaps' indicates it might not interfere; though I'd still like to know if that is the case. Thanks

        • I get the same as I have a current subscription that expires towards the end of the April. I followed through to the part where I approved payment just to see what happened and it showed as a $0 payment. I suspect it will add the 30 days to the end of my current subscriptions. I got 3 months from Microsoft/Nokia Lumia purchase just before Christmas, and there was another Ozbargain deal with a 30 day voucher, using this before the expiry of previous deal extended it by 30 days.

        • Applied for 1 month trial today and got it with no problem. It overlapped my existing trial and did not extend it like I expected so I ended up with two unlimited world subscriptions for the next 10 days. Still it was all free so can't complain.

    worked for me. Thanks OP.

now a question. I have $9.80 credit with skype and now have this unlimited world subscription. When I make calls will Skype take my real credit first?

    • +3

It will only take credit if you call places or call mobiles not included in the plan. Eg. No charge calling a landline in Australia but credit will be taken if you call a mobile in Australia.

      • thanks for clarifying.

  • No Calls to India, interesting …..

    • India has some crazy laws about not letting the PSTN and VOIP touch without a license, it's revenue protection for the big telcos and government basically.

If anyone is wondering how to delete a Skype subscription:-
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1881/how-do-i-cancel-my-s…

I completed steps 1 and 2 but could not find any option to cancel the subscription as displayed in step three. The following link tells you how to start up an online chat with customer service:-
    http://community.skype.com/t5/The-Skype-Lounge/How-to-Contac…

They cancelled my subscription without issue. The subscription will remain active until its expiry date.
