I bought a little tikes lawn mower from target two weeks ago for $59. Last week they reduced the price to $39. Is there a chance I can get the price difference back from them without returning the product as I threw away the packaging.

But it would have been over two weeks since purchase on that receipt? Whats their policy on refunds/exchanges?
30 days i believe, but check the website to be certain
Yes, buy another one today @ $39, then tomorrow return the new one with your receipt for $59 and get a refund
also comes in handy with aldi
I bought an easter egg from Target yesterday at half price, then returned it with a receipt from a full-priced egg I bought 6 weeks ago that had long been eaten. You should have no problem with an un-opened toy from only 2 weeks ago.
The negs on my comment are interesting… how is this any different to what has been suggested by the previous commenter with regard to the toy? Something is bought, opened and used, then the price is lowered so a new item is bought and refunded with the old receipt?
Is Easter chocolate sacred or something?
the negs are from folks that think the egg was from a caged chocolate chicken
Do you usually keep receipts this long for low priced items?.
There were other items on the receipt that weren't so low-priced :)

SAme thing happened to me on appliances online with a fridge!
The buy another fridge and return the new with old receipt isn't very plausible for me.
Should have bought it at Good Guys…they have 30 day price guarantee.
Good guys was $100 more expensive. So even though appliances online discounted later, it was still heaps better than the good guys.
If you bought it with your credit card, some have a purchase price guarantee or similar where they will refund the difference subject to conditions. Worth checking.
There usually has to be a significant drop in the price. Ours has a minimum of $75 difference in the price.
Mine has no minimum, only a maximum of $500.
Definitely worth checking the conditions though.
Just out of interest, which bank is it with please? $75 minimum is nuts.
@Geewhizz: Mine's the Suncorp Platinum Visa, who use Zurich for their credit card insurances. Hope that helps you ($75 minimum is nuts)!
Thanks for that. :)
