Long term, no monthly fee pre-paid mobile service (I want to park my number)

I'm looking for a carrier that I can port my current mobile service to where I can keep the number active, but preferably not have to pay a monthly fee to keep it active.

Any ideas?

  • Savvytel? Their prepaid call credits never expire.

  • if you dont want to savvytel, then try vodafone prepaid 365, you guessed it - expires after 1 year

  • savvytel actually uses vodafone's network, so they should be less hassle since you don't have to do anything after a year. :)

  • Have you or anyone else used Savvytel?

    • I haven't, but I'm about to sign up. The general consensus on whirlpool seems to be good - perfect for just keeping a number.

You do have to make a call (or send an sms i suppose) once every 6 months though.

  • Lebara

  • Vodafone 365 days is the cheapest. $20 per year is all I pay. Just need to reload once a year.

    • Do you have a trojan or virus that attaches a load of totally irrelevant rubbish onto the end of your posts?

    • Nah this is just random bot spam.

  • there is also tpg with their $1 month plan but i'm sure they will charge $40 up front
