Hi all,

They sell them on eBay in cases and with the right firmware, much cheaper than official ones. All they do is take the WD drives and flash it themselves, they never claim they are original Microsoft units.
I've been through the same saga, easier to buy one refreshed, than the hassle of doing just one yourself. If you had to do several e.g for the neighbourhood kids then it's worth it at home, for one off not so. To hunt around the shops for the correct version with the right revision so you can refresh is also effort.
If you have the drive already from a laptop upgrade and it's a rainy day then it might be worth it.
quetion
how do transfer all the game data over?
i could just clone it with partition magic or something
btw. MS will add up to 2tb ext. drive storage on the 360 in the next firmware release
Depending how you brave you feel, you can alway get a 2.5" WD and follow a guide like this http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xbox-360-guiā¦
Worked for my xbox and it's much cheaper. You can even find the little case the drives go in on ebay so it looks less dodgy than the tutorial.
After an official one though, no idea so I hope someone can help out.
