  • Damn. Good price!

Ummmmmmmmmm Philips doesn't seem to be listing the cashback on their promo page from little tgg link.
But anyway their listed price is the normal price everywhere so have to make sure the promo is actually going on.

Promo leaflet was given to me at point of sale. Definitely legit for $100 cashback on this model.

      • Does your leaflet say how to claim the cashback? I didn't get a leaflet but the saleslady brought it up on the system which showed this promo was definitely on.

        • +1

Yeah, you've got to fill out the leaflet, attach a copy of the receipt, cut out the barcode, and snail mail off to Phillips. I think you'd better grab the leaflet from TGG. By the way my local didn't have them displayed anywhere, they were hidden in a drawer at point of sale

        • @Goldberg: Wow really? Mail? -.-

Thanks for the reply though! Guess I'll have to go back to my store soon

        • +1

          @Twirtle2:
Maybe wait to see if it goes live on the Phillips website tomorrow? Pretty poorly done by both parties to be honest. The salesman at TGG had no idea what I was talking about, he just started rifling through drawers and found a full pad of the leaflets :-)
I've gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with the Iron as well. Definitely heaps quicker ironing, and does a great job.

        • @Goldberg: Good idea! Yea the lady that served me didn't realise there was a cashback either until I asked.

        • @Twirtle2: Thanks for that as I bought one but couldn't find the philips link. When does the cashback form need to be sent in by? is it the 12/5?

        • @turando: I've already mailed mine off. But that sounds about right.

  • I would wait and see if the Tefal cashback comes along for Mother's day.

Highly recommend steam generators over regular irons though

  • No details on Philip's promo page.

If I buy from TGG, claim the cashback the next day, and Philips declines to honour the cashback, will I be able to site the consumer guarantee and request a refund from TGG?

I'd love to buy this for my mum!

  • friggin norah $80 delivery to me! Same price at Bing Lee and $10 delivery (no mention of cash back there).

    • Get it from their eBay sale for $13.48 shipping. Any cash back should still apply (when it does appear) and you can get the 2% Cash Rewards cash back. Total $177.10 shipped.

  • I wouldn't mind one of those steam nozzle mop kettle things - I saw a youtube video of someone cleaning grout with a steam pressure thing kind of and it was incredible.
Terrifying to have such a device in your hand unless it's manufactured well but god damn did it do a much better job than 5 minutes of JIF and elbow grease would do.

    • Don't bother and save $$
      They are garbage.

      • -2

Go on youtube and type in "grout steam" and tell me they are garbage.

        • I'm trying to help you out as a former owner
Pls buy one and see for yourself
Actually good to clear your nose if you are blocked up with a cold

        • -1

@Peanut money: There's multiple videos of it stripping the filth in seconds. Multiple

        • -1

          @hamwhisperer:
          You are good,
          You got me
          You caught me out.
I wanted to keep this miracle appliance all to myself and not share it with anyone else
Didn't want my secret to get out.
          Damn those MULTIPLE videos

        • @Peanut money: So you've bought one, presumably shitty ones of these which contradicts what? At least 5 videos on youtube (which are clearly unrelated) showing them decimating the grout,………. ok right.
EDIT: Note in my OP I didn't state I wanted what this article is listing, I specifically want the steam pressure based nozzle thing, perhaps where the confusion comes in.

Go on youtube, type "steam grout" and tell me those things aren't quite impressive.

        • @hamwhisperer:
          I give up
          You win

    • Those steam cleaners are absolutely useless. Bought one from Aldi and returned within 2 days.

      • -1

You're buying a piss poor one, check out the youtube videos, the higher pressure ones with high volumes of steam, decimate the grout.

        • Videos can be manipulated. Otoh, I have a first hand experience of using one. Which one would I rather trust?

  • Another model of Philips for $119 at Myer & free delivery.
    http://m.myer.com.au/shop/mobile/mystore/philips-gc7520-inst…

    • That one looks like it uses $29.95 decal filters.

  • How do these compare to normal irons? Especially for someone who hates ironing with a holy passion.

    • My Mum has a high end Tefal one and all I have to say is that it sucks.

It does not have a heat setting apart from normal or eco. It just does not get hot enough unless you are constantly, and I mean constantly, pressing the steam button. Plus the thick cable to the iron is really disruptive. Not impressed.

Sorry normal hot iron for me.

    • Have the exact same one (bought when they last had cash back and I had amex David Jones cashback offer)
I hate ironing. I would much rather put my clothes in the dryer to make them straight.
Besides it takes a while to get to op temp (like 3 mins) and its probably a tad too bulky for the std ironing board, I would say this is the best thing for anyone who hates ironing.
I have to iron my business shirts for work as the Mrs doesn't do it good and it halves the time it used to take me to do a shirt.
I agree you need to hold the steam button on most of the time, but this is fine with me (maybe I just iron wrong).

At this price, you won't regret it (comparable price to a high end conventional iron) whereas most steam stations usually sit around the $300+ rrp

    WHERE IS THE CASHBACK?????????

  • Harvey Norman have the cashback too, so maybe it's a top secret promo?
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/vacuum-laundry-appliances/iro…
The link to cashback on HN website is dead by the way.

  • I contacted good guys about the link not showing it and they said they'd look into it.

Price has now gone up to $299 and $199 after cashback.

  • +1

Good guys replied just now and said Philips would be updating their site in the next few days with a link.

    • That's great, thanks for finding out!

Scanned in the form! Note: I think it says claims must be received within 14 days of purchase.

  • Has anyone received their cashback yet, it's been a while

    • +1

Got an email last week stating that my claim has been validated and will be paid shortly.

      • Thanks Roscoe. Got an email back on the 14th April pending validation. So slowwww

      • I got the validated email on the 10 may still waiting to be paid. how long does it normally take ?

  • Got a mysterious $100 in my bank with no email notification. I have no idea if it's from Philips. Its labelled:

TRANSFER FROM 1504 GARMENT CAR 401550

Anyone else got this? Could that be it?
