Anyone had any experience on taking pets (a dog) overseas? We are planning to move to the UK for a couple of years or more but wouldn't want to leave our pooch behind.
Any advise on the pro's and con's of arranging it yourself, what airlines to use etc.
All thoughts appreciated.

Check out jetpets.com.
Friend did it recently, and they sorted it all. The only major condition is a raebes jab which is what the 12 month requirement stated above is. If you're pet already had the jab then a simple vet test proves this and they can walk off the plane in the UK with you when you arrivw

Best to go through a service who can arrange everything - quarantine, cage for the flight over etc.
This page https://www.gov.uk/pet-travel-information-for-pet-owners should provide some helpful information.
Meet all that and you are good to go.
I don't understand, why bother ???

Not sure if this goes for all breeds or pets, however my friend tried to take her dog to the UK and was told the dog must remain in quarantine for 12 months before she could get it.
