  • Does anyone's thumbnails/pictures for netflix not load with this enabled on a tv?

    • No problems for me on PC, WDTV or Android. Are you using their dns or a more complicated solution?

      • I use their DNS, either DNS 54.79.3.18 or DNS 101.98.11.156 entered into the tv but both have the same issue.

    • It seems to be working fine for me on an Apple TV 3

    • Yeah I'm having the same problem, just doing a free trial to see the service before I purchase and am experiencing Netflix Thumbnails not loading properly. All i've found on the problem is this fb comment https://www.facebook.com/dns4me/posts/641371962663083, through like 2minutes of googling. This is somewhat kind of a dealbreaker for me, have you found a solution? It's definitely the DNS causing it.

Edit* what router are you using? I'm using a BobLite and had no problems with Unblock.US

      • wow thanks for letting people know i haven't used this dns in ages only as a trial ages ago i use getflix as it cheaper for me then this cause i have a old account with them.

I just changed my dns to this one on a trial and lots of netflix images are not loading, not one or two im talking 20+

anyone know if this is a long term problem or just a problem that just started?

Hi Guys, just an update for those of you having issues seeing images on netflix, we have looked into the issues and it looks like Netflix changed one of there CDN image domains from http to https (effecting Samsung smart TVs), we have made some changes in the service and resolved the issue. if you restart your device it should work if it doesn't please lodge a ticket in our support portal so we can investigate further.

        • Yep, the images are loading now (I was using a Samsung smart TV). Cool!

    • Hi Just wanting to check that everything is back up and working for you.

      Thanks
      dns4me support.

  • just wanna clarify: does that mean I can potentially share the account with 2 other friends since it supports 3 IPs?

    • Correct :)

  • Is this the same company that published everyone's email address during a weekly update?

    • Yes, we had an incident last year while we were still in Beta testing. We were testing a new email system and it only went out to a small subset of Beta users. An apology was issued immediately and measures put in place to ensure it will not happen again. We don't send out weekly updates - we use subscribed notifications, Facebook and Twitter to relay any important messages to our customers. We are Australian based, extremely cost competitive and our service has some unique features some of which are mentioned in this thread. We welcome people to try our services using the 14 day free trial. We also welcome feedback through our Ticket and contact us email.

  • What I like about this service is that you can download a host file
So if you have DD-WRT router, you can use the host file along with your ISP's DNS, which makes it a lot safer.

  • I signed up for a year. Having used it for a day I'm very pleased with the performance. Thanks OP for the post

  • Does anyone know if DNS4me offers the option of 'turning off' the DNS forwarding on their member control panel on their site just like Getflix does so that it doesn't interfere with Netflix Unmetered data that some ISPs offer?

A lot of the ISPs say you must set the DNS on your router to their DNS otherwise the Netflix data will be metered. I think Getflix had found a way to achieve this by having an option to 'turn off' the DNS at will through their website (rather than selecting Oz Netflix) without having to go into your router every time and change it there. By doing this you still get to have your Netflix unmetered which I believe wouldn't be achieved if you had just selected "Australia" as the region as it was still using Getflix's DNS.

That to me is a massive feature that makes Netflix stand out although I'd prefer to sign up to DNS4Me given the awesome allowance for 3 locations!

    • You chose the services you want, (and can add your own custom services if you want), so you should be able to remove the tick from the Netflix service and it should work. But I'm not sure it would do what you want, you'd have to test.

The other option is to get the site to generate your custom hosts file and add it to your client, that would definitely work, or run a DNS server of your own and refer only what you want. I run dnsmasq on a raspberry pi and bind on a Windows client, both of which I update from my custom hosts file on dns4me.

  • Hi rep, I just signed up to a netflix account and am interested in getting this DNS. I was wondering that If i sign up for the trial now in a few days time after I try your service if I can still get this deal? I obviously don't want to commit to a whole year without trying it first.

Our Easter Madness promotion was such a success that we have decided to extend it out until the end of April 2015. That will give users time to give us a try for 14 days and then sign up using the Promo code of eastermadness. This will give you a further 10% discount on the already low Facebook like price. This makes a 1 year subscription only A$20.99

  • Thanks OP.

Just FYI - I signed up for $20.99/year via paypal automatic renewal. I wasn't sure when the deal expired, so I thought I'd save a few bucks and purchase early during my trial period. Best part is the subscription starts after my trial.
I've used them for over a week now and their support is prompt and fixes up my problems asap!

    Highly recommended.
