I have read this here before, maybe it was just a comment.
How much extra does the electrician charge to install the PeakSmart controller (signal receiver)?

I am just concerned about how often it clicks on. Of course peak use is when its really hot and all air cons are wanted. When it is set on the Air Con is set for 75% max, 50% max or even turn the cooling completely off and just the fan will blow.

    • How often will the signal receiver be activated?
We'll only activate the signal receiver on occasions when the electricity network reaches peak demand.

    How often is that?

    • How often is that?

As you suggest, most probably on a stinking hot day when everyone has AC blasting putting enormous load on the grid - just when you don't want the damn thing to suddenly turn off without warning.

      • thats what I was thinking too.

Saves Energex from investing in increasing capacity - just turn devices off when people want them!

I've got this and my a/c actually indicats when it has been activated (lights code). It activated a feww months ago, middle of the day, no particular reason. I ph energex and they said it shouldn't have, and my a/c self fixed soon after.

Interestingly, energex said they had not activated in the prevoius 6 months.

Not a bargain, belongs in forums.

  • Makes this $899 2.5KW Fujitsuonly $420 after CTECH20 20% off, Fujitsu $150 cash back & Energex $150 cash back.

    • Also makes it on 'certain times' less than 2.5kw.

  • I buy AC to be cool, not tepid. If I wanted tepid, Id buy an evap cooler instead. Same as that 25C nonsense.

Sometimes these coping methods devised to 'solve' issues society has, make this feel like a 3rd world country, not a 1st world country with all the associated infrastructure and income.
