In approx 2011 i purchased a laptop from Lenovo, a T200S. I had some pretty major problems with it, a few times over the course of the first two years. Eventually after complaining, they replaced it with a Lenovo X230.
Since having the Lenovo X230 in the first year i had to send it back to get the hinge tightened. I've now had the replacement laptop for about two years and it's basically falling apart, and the hinge problem is back once again.
My question is, since no laptop lasted the 3 year warranty period am i entitled to a repair? Lenovo and Fair trading tell me i'm not, as the initial warranty period is out of date and doesn't start again with the replacement laptop.
I think it's a very poor effort in my opinion. My only option moving forward is small claims court which is very unlikely. I'm just interested in people's opinion on the matter, as to whether i'm being unreasonable.
You only purchased a laptop once, in 2011. It's unfortunately, and I wouldn't buy another X230, but I don't think you'd be eligible and wouldn't waste the expense on the smalls claim court.
