Haha I am the 1 who got them to list it as it was not on their eBay store.

  • Nice!!

  • awesome camera!!

  • +4

Absolutely amazing camera. Use it more than my full frame Nikon and Panasonic G3. It just doesn't know how to take a bad shot…

    • Agreed about the camera not allowing a bad shot! this is a very good price (if postage is not prohibitive)

    • +1

I lost my mk1 in Vegas (I swear it was stolen from my bag while in transit) , but ended up scoring an unopened mk3 off Gumtree for $400. Unwanted prize, sweet!

  • Unable to deliver to my address :(

  • Now $150 delivery not free any more? become $850 after 20%? I am missing something?

  • +1

lol, $150 postage to my address. That's the same as a dishwasher or fridge. Appliances Online would do well to overhaul their courier and postage policies.

/edit: $719 from Kogan eBay store, though obviously all the normal Kogan caveats apply.

  • Bother, I was hoping they'd stock the LX100 too.

  • Expired now that the lovely people at Appliances Online upped the postage from free to $150?

  • Free delivery to me.

I'm happy to post on at cost to anyone genuinely interested in the camera who wants to ship it to me…

    • Refresh the page, it's now showing at $145. First free, then $150, now $145 (edit: back to $150 now).

Refresh the page for another random postage fee.

They are playing around with us.

      • still free for me, refreshing away

      • +1

its free for me, have you typed your post code in?

        • Turned out that was it.

  • Was just on a Support Chat with the company, I asked if their invoice has the ABN and here was the response:

"Thanks for waiting. As per checking I can't see the said details on our end."

Can anyone please confirm (those who have bought) if their invoice has ABN for tax purposes?

    Cheers

    • They don't provide any proper invoice, only the ebay one which doesn't have their ABN no. I hope they will have a proper invoice with the item.

      • Not very reassuring haha. Not willing to risk it.

I need a valid Tax Invoice with ABN to claim TRS and Tax.

        • They should have a tax invoice with ABN.

Edit: Called Appliance Online and they said the Tax Invoice will be with the parcel.

  • what company do they use to deliver their products?

  • Is this local stock or grey import? If local then really good price, with 2% cash back it's ~$686, haven't seen such price since Xmas.

  • This is from local store appliances online. Their website says free delivery to mis metro areas Australia wide

    • So you charge GST?

      Applicable for additional TRS rebate?

      $875 - $175(20% off) - $15.75 (2% off total price excluding GST) - $70 (GST TRS rebate)

      = $614.25 possibly?

      • I'm hoping this is the case. I'm claiming this for work for sure…

      • Just got a confirmation from AppliancesOnline:

"GST is included in the total price. It will show on your tax invoice which gets emailed out to you once your order gets processed"

Looks like the $614.25 price is good :)

  • Shows free delivery for me to Melb.

    Hmmmm… should i upgrade my mk1???

    • RX100 MkI is still a damn fine camera. If you don't need the features of MkIIII, I wouldn't bother. But if you have the cash to burn, why not?

The only reason I'm upgrading is because I left my RX100 in Panama and I've missed it every day since. And with the dollar where it is, I don't see the RX100 hitting this price point again any time soon. Get in while the going is good…

      • -1

If I don't need the features of MK IIII(4??), you wouldnt bother? Why would you bother in the first place?

        Lmao @ the logic…

        • +1

The logic was that if he/she doesn't NEED the features, then it probably isn't worth the upgrade. But if they have cash to spare and WANT the new shiny gadget with extra bells and whistles, then go for it - it's a good deal. At the end of the day the decision is theirs - I'm not forcing them to do anything.

And obviously it was a typo. No need to be such a pedant.

        • -2

          @dontpanic:
A typo? You can't even understand your own logic.read it again

        • @alwayseric: the typo I was referring to was obviously the bit where I typed MkIIII instead of MkIII. I don't understand why people on the internet feel the need to be such pedantic asshats.

        • @alwayseric: i have nfi as to what you are trying to get at. His comment made perfect sense to me. Yours on the other hand i am still trying to decipher.

      • +1

Yeah I was tempted by the improved low-light performance of the sensor, but after thinking it over I'll pass.

The Mk1 does equally as well in normal lighting situations, and I won't use the long tele end of the lense that often so the f2.8 aperture doesn't really matter. EVF and swivelling screen - nice to have but again not esssential.

Lastly I'd also have to spend money change my underwater housing. May as well wait and see what a Mk4 brings to the table!

Damn hard fighting the gear acquisition syndrome haha…

  • +1

For delivery to be free for other appliances online stuff it seemed you needed to be logged into eBay properly. Was the case for the washing machine i bought in this sale (which has already been delivered)

  • Thank you thank you thank you for posting this bargain!!! I've had my eye on the m3 since the end of last year and couldn't make my mind up about it, once I finally decided it was perfect I missed out on the Boxing Day sale prices and have been waiting ever since. Snagged one just now. You have to buy it from their eBay store while logged in to get the 20% discount (I originally clicked on the appliancesonline website and it was around $840 - make sure you're on eBay. Only 9 left apparently)

  • With sensor size smaller than APSC, is low light quiet good with this camera? If anyone had first hand experience :) I'm planning to bring my X-E2 for my trip but this camera size may fit my backpack a bit better. Just need to know if the sensor size will serve well under low light. Thanks

    • +4

Backpack? These beauties will fit in your pocket. I took my RX100 all around South America and was able to carry it on me all the time. Meanwhile, the dumb ass backpackers that decided to lug around a DSLR were wondering why they were getting robbed at gunpoint…

Low light performance will depend on what you want to do. For a point and shoot, they're pretty damn good, but they'll never compete with a good DSLR with fast glass. Horses for courses…

That's the conclusion to their review, it's pretty thorough. Hope that helps. /edit: dontpanic above nailed it.

  • Just grabbed one to replace the RX100 M1 that I lost whilst travelling 2 years ago. Best little camera I've ever owned. Amazing photos in such a small package.

FYI, postage is free once you put your postcode in.

  • there all gone… nooooooooo!

    • :(

Sorry guys. Hopefully they'll add a few more…

  • Out of stock =(

  • SOLD OUT!!!

  • More in stock now!!!

  • hahaha purchased with cash rewards! =)

  • nice price. I have both Rx100m3 & LX100. If we're talking only about portability, I'd take the Sony any day. Feature wise, functionality & results I find myself more in love with the LX100. The Leica lens is super and the 4k video a bonus and is a great talking point when friends and family gather around and watch our holiday trips.

    • Ooh thanks for this. I have tossed up between the two for a while now but I just don't see any benefit of the rx beyond portability (and with this deal, cost). I actually can fit the lx in my pockets anyway which is enough for me.

      • nonetheless thats a great price for an rx100m3. It is still a great little pocket rocket camera. Also gives great results.

Did a search on ozbargain for an lx100 and somebody selling theirs just over 1k with plenty of accessories. I'd negotiate. I bought mine for over 1k without any accessories. Even with a grey import you cant get that pricing. Unless off course they do these insane 20% off thingo.

        • Yeh I asked if they'd sell that used LX without all the extra stuff but no dice it seems.

That T-Dimension price is pretty superb. I've not heard of the seller though….

Throw in the odd coupon + Paypal's free return policy and it might be a winner!

        • +2

          @Greenspoon:

Hahah t-dimension took them almost 3 months to fix my faulty Nikon D7100 last year that I bought from them. So many excuses. I tried getting help from Consumer affairs and they couldn't help me at all. They are based in Hong Kong. I learnt my lesson about grey imports. BTW i made an offer to the guy selling the lx100 and he is willing to take a grand. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if i dont already own one. You'll be spending quite a bit on accessories alone. If you plan to use 4k video and burst mode photo you'll need to be buy a fast write sdcard. You can get those 64gb Samsung pro ones for about $89 and they work perfectly. If you're not convinced about the lx100 i can send you some pics taken in my recent trip to maui.

        • @j03:
Ah good to hear. Tried to PM you for pics and tips but can't for some reason?!

  • +1

for those who purchased with cash rewards it's $682.50

  • How would this compare with the Canon G7X?

    • +1

      This is better

  • $919 now

    • Yesterday I had a stove I was looking at with The Good Guys - added it to my cart at $759, went to check out an hour later and it was $859. Some dodgy shit going on. I don't know where consumer law stands on this eBay stuff. Surely if that happened in store, it would be considered bait and switch…

  • now price gets jacked up to $919 are they owned by Apple?

    • It still works out to be a good price with the 20% off and Cashrewards.

      • +2

Really? Someone downvoted me for that?

Sure, it's not as good as the deal earlier this morning, but it's still the BEST PRICE you're going to get for this camera ESPECIALLY when it's local stock. Show me something that even comes close.

        Can't please some people.

  • +1

Even for $919 with 20% discount (and 2% cash back) is the best price around for local stock.

  • just bought it for $735; even at $919 -20% it's still a no-brainer; haven't seen a price this low for this camera anywhere.

    • Boxing day sales had it for $673 with a nice accessory pack ;)

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176376

Still - a great little camera. I love the popup EVF.

      • +1

Yeah, but the dollar has fallen considerably since then. Probably even more so since when that stock was bought. Going forward, new stock should be much more expensive, so I doubt we'll see these prices again any time soon.

        • -1

You can claim 10% GST when you are travelling overseas so it will end up pretty close to the old deal.

        • @3r1k: with the old deal you could also claim the 10% going overseas, making it still cheaper. What's your point?

  • I got shipping notification for my purchase.

  • Been waiting for a deal on this camera for the last couple of months. I ordered one, thanks!

  • The mark 2 is the same image quality with a hotshoe and slightly better zoom
The mark 3 is better rotation on the lcd (selfies) no hotshoe and better at macro end

I bought the mk2 recently as a diving camera. It is a little better for that than a mark 3.

    Just as an FYI..

  • How does the first edition stand against the mark 2 and 3? Planning to get a second hand one for $300 or 2nd hand dsc-hx50/60

    • It's still an excellent camera, and for $300 I think it's a good buy. I'm rocking one myself as my primary travel shooter.

The RX100 (all cameras) are worlds above the HX series in terms of picture quality , options and video. But you won't get the reach that that the HX lenses get.

  • I have the RX100 Mk2 and love the feature that lets me take 17MP photos while shooting full hd video. The Mk3 can't do that. Just letting people know as a friend of mine bought the Mk3 after seeing my Mk2, and he was disappointed to not have that feature. Not sure why they dropped it?

    • The video codec for the mark 3 is significantly better (and heavier on the bandwidth) than the mark 2.

More detail in the shadows, more detail in the highlights, more room to grade, less noise, less prone to aliasing + moire, ect.

Having said that, the Mark 1 and Mark 2 still shoot beautiful video compared to the likes of Nikon and Canon's offerings, but the Mark 3 is in a class of it's own (better video than anything out there bar the GH4, and the more professional cameras that are in a price range of a decent Japanese car).

  • is there any stock left?

  • +1

FYI, they said they had stock, but they didn't - I ordered mine in the first batch, but I'll be waiting until mid May for delivery.

    • Hmm how did u get this info? Mine says expected deliver April 8th-14th as per Ebay.

      • yeah mines shipped and same info.

      • They called me

        • What does your ebay tracking show? Same as us?

          Haven't received any calls.

        • @plasmapuff:

          no calls either from them.

    • did you get your camera yet?

  • How do you guys track the delivery since they use their own trucks?

  • Just called Appliance Online and they will be getting stock on Monday/Tuesday and will ship next business day.

So probably by end of next week we should have our orders.

Also the SOXXXXXXX you see in eBay is the Sales Order number and not the tracking number.

    • Just got a email: Won't be shipped until 20/4 which is a bit late for me to claim TRS.

      Might have to cancel.

      • Mines is for 17th delivery.

        • Confirmed. Earliest is the 20th for me which is the day I fly out and thus too late for TRS. Have just cancelled.

Oh well.. My Nex 3n will have to do for now.

  • +2

Mine was 17th then changed to 20th and now again changed but dont know when.

    This is getting ridiculous.

    • I got an eta of May 12, did they just not even give you a date?

      • they kept changing it but i told them if we dont receive it by a certain date i want a refund.

  • +1

    Well i got mine today!!!

    anybody else?

    • I'm still waiting for mine. I got in really early and ordered it shortly after this deal was posted but I got a call about 10 days later telling me that there was a delay in the amount of stock they had.

Really unfortunate because this meant that I couldn't claim with the TRS anymore, which means I'm paying $70 more than I needed to. Still was a good price though.

My ETA is May 12, which is pretty bullshit considering how long ago this order was placed.

  • I received mine last week.

  • anybody with buyer's remorse willing to sell theirs?
