Limitations of a Fluted knife? Can anyone tell me what they are?

So the fluted version is $25 cheaper. I wonder why. Is anyone able to tell me?

Same RRP, they might have just had too many fluted ones in stock

Fluted or not they're wonderful knives. I have a pair (25cm and a small vegetable one) for the past 3 years and have not sharpened them once.

the knifes have dimples in them so when your cutting food like potatoes is falls away from the knife rather then sticking to it.good for cheese as well.no difference in how you use the knife though.normally more expensive then normal knifes.:)

Thanks all. I bought the $50 fluted one. Can't go wrong with Global I guess!
