Anyone else got the email about getting an upgrade to gold - only for Virgin Blue to blame Friday the 13th and take it back again?
I went from adoring the company to resolving to avoid them in future - just because I feel manipulated.

I was quite excited though that my one return flight was worth free Lounge access for a year. I was considering calling them and asking about it inbetween getting the second email.
Although I do think it was a genuine mistake - it's not like they ever tried to take money off you at any time. Nowhere did they ever try and sell you something.
Always laugh at Virgin, they used to say they weren't like the banks when they introduced their credit card, but when I got knocked back on a credit card, they were the most cagey in giving a reason, their supervisor must have been recruited from a Telecom lay off, arogant and rude. Two weeks later I got $20K limit card with Citibank AND $15K with Westpac. Guess I just didn't have enough rings in my lip. Never been near Virgin or any of their products since.
I know its pretty silly but everyone makes mistakes. This isnt the first major company i've seen something like this come from.
Sounds a bit different to what Dell did, but I like how Dell's becoming a verb. If we keep using it enough it can become as much of a verb as the word Google ;-)
I actually saw Clive Peeters did a Dell too… if anyone wants to go down that path then have a look on page 21 of their November catalogue as they've got a $39 High Definition STB with HDMI and USB input to play MP3 - for only $39! Sadly the pictured one is standard def with none of those features.
Saw that from Clive Peeters..bit of a disappointment.
Virgin made a mistake and (unlike Dell) promptly said sorry.
Virgin never offered you a router, so get over yourself. :+)
