I don't know how but i have managed to crack the lower part of the screen and break the adjoining hinge of my Dell Alienware laptop (purchased in June 2013 for $1100). As a result, I am unable to close the laptop screen or move it in any manner without causing more damage to the screen.
JB HIfi said they can't fix the laptop and DEll said that they will charge $400 to fix it.
Do you have recommendation for a cheaper repair option for my laptop? I am located in one of the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne?

It would be better if you can know the model of the screen so you can have a bit look on eBay. I tried to replace my friends' screen before (bought new screen from eBay and replaced it myself).
