  • Watched the video at amazon. Who carries that much stuff in their backpack?? You'd need to be Schwarzenegger to lug it around.

High school student. If you are a Year 7 boy's parent you will know it:)

I went through high school without getting a locker… use to use a large travel backpack to carry all my textbooks… would have loved to have one of these.

Incidentally, sunnyday, I recommend that your boy look for friends in his classes to share textbooks with in class. They can then alternate days to carry text books. Helps avoid back issues later on in life ;-)

I have this backpack for uni. Its awesome. I paid about double that for mine a year or so ago, so good find.

I paid $31.95 delivered for this a year ago. Guess you should have ozbargained it back then like me lol: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115333

      • Aww pity I missed that deal haha.
I'm still happy regardless, its a solid bag.

I agree with wasabinator below though, better for smaller things and books + a laptop. The dividers can get annoying when trying to fit in multiple thick textbooks.

      • That was a great deal. Got two myself… one for my bro.

I have this also, it's quite fantastic making this a bargain for sure, but note that it really is best suited if you have loads of gadgets as the storage space for non gadget-shaped objects is not impressive. eg. try putting a 6-pack of beer in it - almost impossible to fit it, unless you stretch the bag to literally gigantic proportions. Yes, it is a laptop backpack, but I say this because it's quite a large bag but has surprisingly low utility for being a general purpose bag (without becoming gigantic and unwieldy in the process).

    • Im with wasabinator as well. Its great for uni books and gadgets. Fitting bigger items is difficult as this bag is full of smaller compartments. Its that divider in the middle that gets in the way when trying to store larger items

You carry a 6-pack of beer around with you? :)

      • +12

Sometimes you don't want to carry a full case.

      • I had on one occasion passed through the local bottle shop on the way home from work when I was using this bag and was disappointed that such a large bag couldn't practically carry the beer :)

  • I have to agree with "wasabinator" as I also have one of these bags and I reckon they would be super handy for UNI usage, but if you were thinking of travelling on a flight with this and all your gear, hmm…..nupe…..that being said, great price and I am sure I paid more.

It is not that big to be honest, the walls are rather thick to keep things save so you cannot put in it that much.

Anyway it is not "Flight Checkpoint Friendly" just because there is no such thing. They always, ALWAYS ask you to take the laptop out.

I paid around the same price probably and I love it. I just put a Ubuntu sticker on it and it now looks sooooo much better :).

  • Thanks thelastnoob, ordered, looking for a laptop backpack for sometime now.

  • The bag looks really decent. It doesn't look small enough to be stored underneath the chair in airplane though :(

    • I've taken mine on a plane to Japan several times, just fits under the seat.

      • Maybe my judgment on the width was wrong… The bag looked too big for me.
        :( I missed a great looking deal :(

        • It doesn't leave much room for your feet etc and I usually don't have the bag overflowing with stuff, but fairly full, kinda.

        • @nismo: :S Then it wouldn't have worked for me anyways. I need that little bit of space for resting my legs.

  • Good bag but its heavy

  • Bought one, thanks OP!

  • Would't mind getting this bag if I didn't have my current bag (TNF Surge II).

  • Got one of these from a bargain posted here way back when (auspost deal I think). Great bag for the price.

    • +1

Yeah I got two from that deal, they were $25 each. Great bag, still on the first one, showing no signs of wear at all.

  • +1. got one last special. thinking of getting another for the kids.

  • I got the Everki Versa 14" from TGG during the last 20% off ebay sale —> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162103

Just fits a 15.6" laptop. Might get this though

  • Hmmm some of these might be good for our Japan trip as our carry-ons

Or maybe one of these others http://stores.ebay.com.au/Dick-Smith-Online/_i.html?_nkw=bac…

  • closest pickup to me is Broadway, Sydney city :/

  • does this hold a water bottle on its side well?

    • Yes a standard 600ml tested fine as it has a loop you can tighten over it to keep it steady

  • I bought this bag when Aus Post had the clearance special. This is the best laptop bad I have ever used. The only complaint I have is that the drink bottle elastic strap wears out. Apart from that an excellent bag, highly recommended.

  • Prices are back to normal I think. Just as I was about to buy one.

  • yes, i was about to buy one as well :(

  • I added 2 different products in dick smith eBay store , got charged $4.95 delivery each products? No combine shipping?

  • damn missed out :(

  • Got one just in time…have to drive about 50klms to pick it up…but its a bargain! :P

  • Oh noes, I missed out…

  • Awesome bag, have been using it for the last year. Excellent warranty support as well. They actually sent me a new one when my old one had a tear.
