HI, inheriting an unlocked iPhone 5 and since I have all the charging devices for iPad2, thought I didn't need to buy somemore. But there is differing opinion on this, so would appreciate any advice if it's not harmful to the battery of iPhone 5. Something about the wattage? voltage being half of what and some people experienced short battery life of iphone when they used the ipad charger. Others advised it's got nothing to do with them using the iPad adaptor, there seem to be some really cheap ones on Ebay, are they reliable? If so, I may as well buy a new set for the iPhone.

iPad 2 charger is 5V like all the other apple chargers for iphone/ipod etc. The iPad 2 charger has a higher Amp rating but that doesnt matter as the iphone will only draw as much as it needs when charging. Short answer, yes you can use the iPad 2 charger to charge your iPhone 5. You can also charge an iPad with an iPhone charger, but it will charge at a slower rate.
hey, thanks so much for all your advice. Glad it works on both.
I am using my iPad Air charge for charging iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPad. So far no issues.
