Seems like things are a little tighter in Cranbourne than they even are in Frankston.

    • The whole shopping centre is being relaunched with the stage 1 of the redevelopment completing tomorrow with the relaunch of Kmart and the all new Coles and Brand New Target, so I guess they don't need to do much for extra foot traffic as its been heavily promoted by the centre already locally

      • I haven't seen the other side of it, but driving down the Sth Gippy the other day says the place is nowhere near ready yet! Traffic was banked up quite heavily mid afternoon with heaps of work still being done on that side of the centre!

        • You would have seen stage 2, which is not opening until sept 2015

  • there's likely to be punchups over this - I remember when KMart etc. in the same shopping centre had sales on the Rock Band instrument sets, there was a fight over one of the last sets (no idea which console.. but was peed off seeing people with multiple trolley loads of them at the checkout).

    • I got a $10 gift card boxing day outside Bourke Street without even asking.. no punchups.. hardly anyone there..

Better pack my ID in case I want a coffee ;)

    • Yeah, but wasn't that the edition that came with a free mullet wig?

  • any cheap flights to Melbourne.

    • Cranbourne is pretty far from Melbourne.. hope you've stocked up on uber/taxi credits.. whatever they're called..

      • Not far enough!

        • haha true. Bogan meter was definitely high.. I actually went down there cos I'd never been (Dandenong's the furthest). Shopping centre could be closer to the train station (had to take a bus which took ages to leave and got me there too late).

Arrived at ten past and all gift cards were long gone.. The guys, gals, and lotsss of prams/kids seemed pretty pumped about it.. like a once in a lifetime event for them.

Got a regular/small coffee but was in line for like 15/20 mins and had to wait another 15 mins for my name to get called. Cafe is right next to the Mens section so had a browse while I waited (could of been another one also which someone alluded too..)

None of the other stores had any other special offers (Free or ozbargain worthy..).. took a peek at Kmart but same same..

Overall it was a non-event and kinda bummed I blew my morning down there, but I am happy for the locals (who I suspect will be their main patrons.. can't really imagine anyone else treking there unless there's an ozbargain smorgasbord of goodies going on with pallet loads of stock or something.. haha)

        • I don't know if you drive a car, but if you do, it's a good thing you left it at home! There's a lot of cars getting around with a mix of mags and stock wheels for a reason!

Oh, and if you ever lose your car, jump on a train (and bus) and head down there for a look! Or if you don't have a car, jump on a train (and bus) and return someone's back.

        • @Snoop:

          lol, thanks for the tip!
